4kids is universally known throughout anime fandom for butchering all animes that they license.

As in my review of the 1st edited dvd of One Allotment where I explained the incredibly lame 4kids edits, you will accept the same inexplicable and uninteresting edits to the display as on the 1st DVD, such as edited out blood (from Zoro’s fights) and edited out guns.

——————–

Buy,Download, Or Stream One Piece, Vol. 2 - The Circus Comes To Town! Click Here

Examples:

1) In the 4kids version, a gun that fires a fraction of cork was pointed at Shanks’ head.

In the unusual japanese version, it was a Proper gun with Exact bullets pointed at Shanks’ head. The person with the gun had EVERY design of KILLING Shanks.

2) Zoro’s major fight in this arc has all of the blood removed from it, again, by 4kids.

In the modern, he bleeds a lot after being stabbed IN THE Abet by the main poor guy of this arc.

——————

Cuts like these should fabricate you quiz if what 4kids is showing you on Cartoon Network is the genuine sage. Distinct characters on this DVD are ALOT more ruthless in the novel version, i.e. Buggy. You won’t discover that in this version. They are also quite willing to Extinguish if primary in the current series. Again, you won’t spy that on the edited DVD.

In other words, One Portion is not a demonstrate for 7 year olds. This version is deliberately hiding the exact anecdote from you, and this should not be tolerated by anime fans.

And it’s only going to catch worse…

In future 4kids DVDs of One Portion, entire memoir arcs will be significantly SHORTENED or SKIPPED altogether. In fact, as of honest now, the One Fraction dub is at episode 64, which is approximately episode NINETY-FIVE of the recent series. (As of Friday, April 21, 2006, Japan is currently at episode 262.) This alone should issue you that something is seriously execrable.

I am only giving ravishing warning to ALL Cartoon Network and 4kids TV watchers of One Allotment. You are being seriously ripped off by 4kids Entertainment.

To build a long tale short, this is not One Fragment. If you know anyone who has the fresh One Share anime in their possession, go to that person and leer it immediately. You won’t be disappointed.

In other words, do not purchase this severely edited DVD under any circumstances!

Otherwise, 4kids Entertainment will continue to steal that you are dead and will continue to fabricate such abominations that are excuses for dubs, such as this One Fraction dub.

If you want to gape the trusty narrative, pester 4kids to release uncut DVDs of One Section. When you perceive the current fable, you will wonder why you ever even notion of considering purchasing this or other edited 4kids One Share DVDs…

I’ll probably destroy up getting this anyway. I’ve got most of the Japanese episodes from the Internet, but I smooth treasure the putrid editting of this version. I judge it makes it so great funnier. Plus, I can pop this version into my TV and go about household chores while listening to it.

I honest really wish they’d manufacture a feature to decide which version you behold. Or get a special edition with 2 discs (one edited and One unedited) . I deem tons of people would bewitch it, even you 4Kids haters out there.

In the demolish, this is a generous catch if you relish the indicate and don’t absolutly Dislike the 4Kids version. I know its not the Japanese One Allotment that you all “Care For”, but its detached a dang marvelous expose that you can’t support but admire.

We beget every Scholastic Video in the series & we consider this is one of the best! These “stories that sigh” are very catchy. My kids appreciate to speed around the coffee table (their get of dancing) to “There Was an Ancient Lady…” I admit when I first watched from afar the second memoir “Antarctic Antics”, I plan the illustrations were kinda dead, honest because I am not a ample fan of penguins…but since my kids put a question to this one ALL the time, I have since grown to Care For it. You are walked thru the life of a penguin. It is educational, but very intriguing with very comical lyrics like…”Antarctica, you’d better bring your partika” I accept myself singing this often :) Lots of talented singers to be enjoyed (including singer from the Mavericks.) We care for the bonus stories also (only on the DVD version.) Current author Lois Ehlert’s “Waiting for Wings” is Extraordinary, I mean truly Incredible!!! This one is a winner.

We occupy about 15 of the Scholastic Video DVDs, and have owned 11 of those for almost a year. This was one of the unique releases and is our absolute accepted of the current ones so far. My son is 4.5 and my class of 3 year olds also adored it. My customary kindergarten class would mild esteem it as first graders.

“There was an aged woman…” is hysterical, the illustrations, the narration and song by Cyndi Lauper of all people. “Antarctic Antics” is I judge my accepted selection of all times even topping “Chicka Chicka Roar Declare”. It is based on a book of poetry about Antarctica (I haven’t seem the book - yet) and it’s a mini rock musical of these poems. It has some enormous science and geography teaching too, but I really fancy the music. My son walks around singing these songs.

“Musical Max” is favorable. “Keeping House” is unique but cute. “Waiting for Wings” is another all-time accepted.

I’ve been watching the Inu Yasha series since season one and continue to be a tremendous fan of the demonstrate. The season six box plot marks the come waste of my collection since I’ve found it easier to occupy the box sets rather than the individual dvd ones. This season revolves around Inu Yasha’s group and their final trial of getting the final shard before Naraku does and since Naraku has become more stronger than ever the quest has become that more risky. And of course we can’t forget Sesshomaru and his beget small group and his have mysterious agenda. The box place does only have the episodes 127-146 so all us fans will have to wait until Viz finally releases the seventh box status hopefully early next year. As with the Inu yasha universe you have most of the episodes be very dramatic but there are laughable episodes and scenes that will also compose them light-hearted similar a exiguous to series like Bleach and Naruto. The video is definite and involving like the other season box sets and the audio is substantial again the declare cast for both the Japanese/English cast did a unbelievable job for their characters. So until the 7th state comes out I say to all fans while this x-mas stamp sale is quiet reliable derive this state while you can because after the sale is over I know many people will be kicking themselves for waiting I know I have with previous sales like this and waiting to long and regretted it afterwords…

I’m collecting the Seaon series, (when they are on sale and I can afford them)

Friends had warned me that noteworthy of the first section of this film was insensible and they had made the same observation of Angela’s Ashes. I disagree with them about both. In Cinderella Man (a phrase attributed to Damon Runyon), it is imperative that James Braddock’s circumstances and those of his family are carefully, unhurriedly established to develop an appropriate context for the process by which he resumed his career as a professional fighter in 1934 and then faced Max Baer on June 13th, 1935, in Long Island City, N.Y. Although a 10-1 underdog, Braddock won the heavyweight championship of the world. (The film takes us to this point.) He would lose his heavyweight title two years later in an 8 round KO to Joe Louis, “The Brown Bomber.” Braddock retired after a final obtain over Tommy Farr in 1938.

Other reviewers have shared their absorb reasons for thinking so highly of this film. Here are mine. First, perhaps only in Raging Bull is the physicality of boxing so compellingly portrayed. Also, I worship the skills of those who recreated a period more than 70 years ago, one during which the Braddocks and millions of others struggled to overcome hunger and illness as well as poverty and especially horror and humiliation. Under Ron Howard’s direction, the quality of acting is outstanding, notably Paul Giamatti as Braddock’s manager and trainer, Joe Gould. (I serene mediate that Giamatti should have at least been nominated for an Academy Award in recognition of his performance as Miles Raymond in Sideways.) With regard to Renée Zellweger (as Braddock’s wife Mae) and Craig Bierko (as Max Baer) as well as Paddy Considine, Bruce McGill, Ron Canada, David Huband, Linda Kash, and Nicholas Campbell, they had to work within quite specific limitations in their supporting roles. I concept they were all fair splendid.

Finally, I wish to single out Russell Crowe for special praise. Whatever his public persona may be, he demonstrates exceptional self-discipline as well as nuanced talent in the lead role of the valiant heavyweight champion boxer. Braddock fought for “milk,” to be obvious, but in doing so became a symbol of hope for other victims of the Spacious Depression. Crowe brilliantly portrays Braddock’s fundamental decency and integrity as well as his total devotion to the welfare of his wife and their three children. To me, this is Crowe’s finest performance thus far.

“Cinderella Man”, Ron Howard’s heart-felt film biography of boxing fable James J. Braddock, never received the recognition it deserved when first released, due, in spacious section, to Russell Crowe’s poor press following a telephone-throwing incident. Overzealous critics tended to lump the incident and film together, and despite Crowe’s public apology, many moviegoers skipped it. Now that the film is available on DVD, it’s time to retort the film for what it always HAS been; director Howard and star Crowe’s FINEST film, together!

Buy,Download, Or Stream Cinderella Man! Click Here

Braddock’s account is so wonderful and inspirational, that it is amazing that it’s taken seventy years to philosophize it. Sylvester Stallone ‘borrowed’ from it, extensively, in creating “Rocky”, and in viewing the film, the parallels between fact and fiction are obvious; Braddock had been an ‘up and comer’ in the twenties, but broken bones and ill-advised matches had cost him a championship shot. Then the Depression struck, Braddock was wiped out, financially, and he struggled to succor his wife and family through the most harrowing period in American history. Considered ‘washed up’ and too broken-down for a comeback, all the boxer had going for him was his wife’s cherish, his manager’s faith, and his personal integrity, which refused to allow him to give up. He tenaciously climbed wait on up the ranks of younger title contenders, earning the adoration of a country trying to rebuild their believe lives, as well, until, finally, he had his championship match, against ruthless ‘killing machine’ Max Baer. Their match would become the stuff of legends!

To director Howard’s credit, he never ‘over-sentimentalizes’ the fable, or tries to turn it into a soft-focus ‘fairy tale’. His vision of the Depression is the most apt and heartbreaking since the documentaries of the ’30s, and will near as a revelation to those whose only knowledge of the period is a paragraph in a history book. Jim Braddock is not a ‘Superman’, but a hard-working, decent man with no higher vision than to provide his family a better life, and as magnificently portrayed by Crowe, he embodies qualities of honesty and dignity that many of us dream of, but seldom attain. In any other year, he’d be a shoo-in for an Oscar for his performance, it’s that reliable!

Matching Crowe’s portrayal are Renée Zellweger, as his precise wife, Mae, who perfectly channels a ’30s ’style’, as well as a gutsiness that is timeless, and the incredible Paul Giamatti, as manager Joe Gould, who would sell everything he owned, rather than ogle Braddock give up. Giamatti, a faded character actor who finally saw his ‘breakthrough’ in last year’s “Sideways”, should finally collect his long-deserved Oscar, for this role.

“Cinderella Man” is a film that will continue to be cherished long after the filmmakers are gone, a epic rooted in an earlier era, but quiet timeless.

Movies unprejudiced don’t procure better than this!

I Esteem this movie. I’m a Gargantuan Denzel fan and to have Eva along with Sanna Lathan in this movie was the “icing on the cake”. This is an capable transfer in Blu Ray. Secure this movie.

Denzel Washington turns in his typically exceptional performance, and the sage has plenty of twists and turns, but in the waste it becomes predictable . . . like the author ran out of steam before that one, last uphill pull.

If there are any films that offer a fantastic sense of esteem for the cinema, they are the films of Jean-Luc Godard. But, as he explains in a brief interview from 1964 that is included with this sparkling DVD, he was also against film; that is, against the conventions and rules that predominated French cinema. So he introduced unconventional methods of telling stories and making movies and decided to include elements that films typically left out. “Band of Outsiders” is a impish, unconventional, mesmerizing yarn of small-time gangsters and young esteem site in 1960s Paris. Its source material runs the gamut from the pulp crime unique on which it is based to the American B-movies and film noir that inspired its glimpse. It’s Godard’s best admire letter to Paris since “Breathless,” and also one of the last of his factual Novel Wave films.

The chronicle might be simple enough: Arthur and Franz enlist the wait on of the young, exquisite Odile to stage a robbery. But if the account is simple, everything else around it is not. Here we get allusions and homages to Arthur Rimbaud (the poet whom one of the characters is named after), Franz Kafka, film composer Michel Legrand, “The Umbrellas of Cherbourg,” T.S. Eliot, Shakespeare, American cartoons, Jack London, Charlie Chaplin, Andre Breton, Andre Malraux, and numerous others. That’s Godard doing his thing, and even if we miss those allusions, there’s so great more to be cherished: the renowned miniature of silence, the running visit through the Louvre, the dance scene, the aesthetic closeups of Anna Karina, riding on the underground metro, the trio driving through the streets of Paris.

“Band of Outsiders” is impish, wondrous, hilarious, breezy, but at the same time melancholic, murky in its undertones. Raoul Coutard’s photography gives it a stark perceive, but its playfulness is its most alluring aspect, along with Godard’s wonderfully sharp, inventive visual language. It might not be the finest example of the French Unique Wave, nor is it as perfect as a work of art as “Breathless” and “My Life to Live,” but in its flaunting of cinematic invention, its richness, and its embodiment of pure cinema, it’s in a class by itself and certainly a film that should be seen, if not owned, by lovers of cinema. Its most memorable moments will remain in your mind forever.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Band of Outsiders - Criterion Collection! Click Here

Many Godard fans, myself included, have been waiting eagerly for this Criterion edition of “Band of Outsiders.” It’s a distinguished digital transfer; the images and contrasts are crisp; the mono soundtrack is as distinct as possible. The additional features are worth the trace of the DVD alone, including a visual glossary that explains many of the film’s allusions and a brief interview in which Godard explains the philosophy gradual the Recent Wave. Criterion has really outdone itself with this disc, and that’s saying something.

I recommend that, even if you do not know French, you should leer this film at least once with the subtitles off since they sometimes obscure the closeups that gain this film so memorable. When the camera is on Anna Karina’s face, fill me when I say you don’t want anything to stand in its procedure.

‘Band of outsiders’ is Jean-Luc Cinema Godard’s most endearing film - a teen movie played by adults, a savor myth, a heist movie, a serial, a slapstick comedy, an anthology of Novel Wave magic. As with previous films, Hollywood genre is made a complete nonsense, continually deflated by extended bits of business, my favourite being the attempt to beat the portray for racing down the Louvre’s corridors honest before the heist.

As with all early Godard, the joy of ‘Band’ is in the bouyant playfulness of his style - the high, long shots looking down on bustling activity; the long car-journeys through Paris streets; the intense close-ups on Anna Karina (Godard’s wife), eluding all meaning, or the sheer rapture in watching her running along pavements, or crossing a river; the messing around disused yards; the lengthy quotes and allusions that stall the action and give resonance to the funny goings-on and the turmoil of the characters in them; the unwavering long takes with arresting proper sound; the sportive homages to veteran Hollywood; the narrator’s bumptious intrusions, equating events with ‘bad B-movies’.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Band of Outsiders - Criterion Collection! Click Here

More than Louis Malle’s ‘Zazie dans le metro’, ‘Band’ is the ultimate Raymond Queneau film - Karina’s character is named after the heroine of Queneau’s roman a clef ‘Odile’, a book about the writer’s rupture with the Surrealists, impartial as ‘Band’ signals Godard’s outpacing the Unique Wave - with its deadpan marginal heroes, its elusive heroine who doesn’t want to be elusive; its romanticising Paris, especially its margins and its pull to the embankments; the attractions like circuses and funfairs intruding on the everyday. Godard finds a cinematic equivalent for Queneau’s record squawk - its flip melancholy; its casual intellectualism; its disappear from messing about to the philosophical to slapstick to dreams to the tragic and wait on again; in the self-consciousness of the characters; in the sage mix of whim, genre and destiny.

I am ecstatic with my occupy. Each workout is roughly 30 minutes each. They are broken down into a warm up, two different routinues using upper and lower body together with cardio, and a cold down/stretch. The cardio is a lot of jumping (mediate jumping jacks, etc.) What I really like about the workouts is that they are time efficient. I feel like I got a workout in 30 minutes and she combines upper and lower boday together. Maybe I’m crazy but I am starting to spy a incompatibility after 7 workouts. If you liked Jillian on the Biggest Loser, you’ll like her on the DVDs. Her personality is the same.

Why I gave the DVDs 4: There are no demos of the exercises, so if you are not familiar with the exercises in her book (Winning By Losing) you might want to seek the DVDs before you do them or to search for what the modified version of the consume is. I bear she mentions that in the intro as well. Also, there a lot of jumping. I read in another person’s review that that can be poor for joint problems, so something to judge.

Overall, I am very cheerful with my buy. I would recommend this to a friend and I will probably take it as a gift for someone in the future.

I like many enjoyed the Biggest Loser show; that is why I bought these DVD’s. I must say I am contented with the results I am getting by doing these workouts, even though they push me to my limits. I can not sight a beginner doing these, without modification you begin where you are and work up to it. I am a workout animal but Jillian puts me to shame. This has been the only workout that has taken my chubby percentage down.

When Universal started putting out the classic monsters on DVD this plunge, I impartial knew I’d have to wait a long time for the underappreciated Wolf Man. But no! On the heels of the OUTSTANDING discs of Frankenstein, The Bride & The Mummy comes another first-class offering. Like the others, THE WOLF MAN contains an superior documentary as well as the trailer and a commentary track by a film historian. The print of the film is dazzling. I don’t care what your age is or when you first saw this unbelievable film, if you’re a fright fan you simply must gain this one.

Firstly, apologies for the corny title of my review. Now the DVD. Universal has pulled out all the stops for its Classic Monster Collection DVDs and ‘The Wolf Man’ is a contender for best of the series. The DVD boasts several special features including an informative documentary, cast/crew notes and trailer. In keeping with the other Classic Monster DVDs, the accurate bonus is the extraordinary represent quality. Not fair better than VHS, not honest better than a revival cinema print, this print is better than I ever acquire seeing on TV! ‘The Wolf Man’ also features the best commentary of any of these Universal DVDs. Tom Weaver provides an exceptional degree of insight into the movie in a very fleet but conversational manner - you’ll need to listen to the commentary more than once in order to acquire burly relieve. Like all edifying ‘horrors’ the emphasis is on suspense and mystery, not mindless gore. In fact, the image of Lon Chaney Jr in paunchy werewolf make-up could easily overshadow the fact that this is also a qualified psychological thriller - until you see the DVD. I didn’t acquire a lot of music video compilations in the 90’s but for Peter Gabriel I made an exception. Why? Because his stuff is always groundbreaking. Like the Taking Heads video compilation, Gabriel’s “Play” has attractive videos that matched the lovely music. Since Gabriel fans have to wait so long between music releases (that’s not a complaint honest the truth), it’s nice to have a bunch of DVD releases back-to-back to maintain us glad.

The report quality is exceptionally beneficial and the 5.1 mix is similar to that for the SACD re-releass (although I wish that they’d release all of those in hybrid format so I could play them in my car) . All of my favs are here although some are curiously missing such as the alternate version of “Don’t Give Up” plus we obtain a number of reliable videos from his more modern albums and singles. I’ve always loved the song “Lovetown” and loved the fretful, bright video for “Growing Up”.

What about interviews with Gabriel about the making of these and the director’s he worked with? None of that which is too awful. I do like having the option of the introductions to the various tunes, though. “The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway” really wouldn’t have fit on here as its really Genesis material. I’m hoping that he’ll utter the renowned “Rockpalast” performance separately or that Genesis will set out a companion DVD to their boxed place about the years with Gabriel. I also miss the video Gabriel shot with Laurie Anderson for “Pleasurable Birds” (which has aired only once to the best of my knowledge) . It was quirky and fun and I always liked Laurie’s slightly different mix of the same song (which Gabriel went relieve and changed signficantly compared to the version on “So”) . I also would have liked to have had the video from the Amnesty International HBO special with Gabriel’s rearrangement of “Biko” (which has never appeared anywhere else in any create to the best of my knoweldge) .”Digging in the Dirt” I like quite a bit as well.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Peter Gabriel - Play: The Videos! Click Here

The “Current Esteem” video is a flashback to seeing him when he toured honest after leaving Genesis. It’s fun to compare this early video to later ones.

If you’re a Gabriel fan and don’t have any of this (or even if you have the CV video from years before), you’ll appreciate this. Purchase it up and turn it up really loud. Even if the TV is off, you’ll savor having this “greatest hits” compilation of his best video bits over the years. Man he has been prolific when it comes to videos (compared to other performers) .

Even if you don’t turn on your TV, it’s the equivalent of two CDs’ worth (141 minutes) of DD/DTS 5.1 remixes of PG’s “greatest hits.” Worth the notice correct there.

If you do turn on the TV you’ll observe a collection of innovative and interesting videos, many of which can only be called “art.”

If you’re a PG fan it’s a no-brainer. Even for casual listeners who honest want a sampler, and even for people who want to demonstrate off their home theater systems with great-sounding surround music and eye-popping visuals, this is a broad prefer.
