Having unbiased seen the sneak preview screenings of the english language reversioning of Fullmetal Alchemist - Conqueror of Shamballa, I can say without reservation that it is a thrilling and must-see epilogue/ending capping off what is without seek information from one of the greatest masterpieces of anime. However, DO NOT Inaugurate your exploration of this yarn with this movie. Some of the things that get this account so huge are its character development, legend arc, pacing, and unexpected twists of position. To be properly appreciated, Fullmetal Alchemist MUST be seen in sequence from episode 1 through episode 51, and THEN this movie. If you try to sight this movie before seeing the series, not only will you win it largely incomprehensible, but knowledge of what happens will SPOIL many of the surprises that await in those 51 episodes. Virtually no backstory is provided; viewers are assumed to have seen the series.

All the charm and wonder of the series is here in this film. All the divulge actors from the english reversioning of the series were brought encourage to disclose their characters for the movie. The care and attention to detail shown by both the modern creators and the reversioners is mighty to say the least. I only wished it was longer. The account fable of the Fullmetal Alchemist, in its entirety, will stand for decades as a monument to and inspiration for what can be achieved in this medium. This film is the final coda at the demolish of all its symphonic glory.

Note: this may absorb minor spoilers. That said, the FMA movie brings a halt to the storyline left start at the demolish of episode 51 of the TV series. It has gorgeous visuals and a splendid soundtrack, nicely rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound. It picks up three years after the destroy of the television series and wraps up loose ends surrounding the gate, Hoenheim, Envy, Gluttony, Wrath, Ed, and Al. Despite the fact that it was written by the same staff who created the series, the movie does have a different “feel” to it (especially since alchemy can’t be passe for a noble allotment of the film) . If you liked the series, you’ll definitely appreciate (at least most of) the movie. Fans who are looking for romantic relationships are going to be disappointed as the staff seemed to focus more on the bond between the two brothers.

For the gigantic fans of the series, this special edition will definitely be a highlight to your collection, as it will have a hard-bound book, several character “portrait cards”, and a bonus DVD with multiple commentaries and interviews with the Japanese cast and crew, as well as the American staff. It also has a nice portrait of Ed on the cloak of the box (the same that was venerable for the Japanese ltd. ed. release) .

I would highly recommend this film to anyone who likes Fullmetal Alchemist; despite what I saw as the film’s few shortcomings, it was calm a excellent movie overall.

This release contains six episodes of early Doctor Who, but unlike practically every other release, these are assorted episodes from a variety of stories. The dark fact is that not every episode of the series survived to the point to day. Many of the earliest were destroyed, but fortunately, not all of them. As a result, this collection doesn’t really enjoy a complete legend, but what it does offer, is a piquant peer at what exists from these incomplete stories. The other postitive thing is that these episodes have never been aired on US television!

As for the goodies inside:

THE CRUSADE 1 & 3 - A historical account in which the Doctor, Ian, Barbara and Vicki encounter the era of King Richard the Lionhearted, (played by Julian Glover), and his sister Joanna (played by Jean Marsh) . A four-part legend originally, the second and fourth parts are included on the DVD in audio-only format, so you can experience the complete narrative as grand as is humanly possible. Also, as a bonus, there is a commentary track for the third episode.

THE DALEKS’ MASTER Belief 2, 5 & 10 - These three episodes are all that remain from this fable 12-part adventure, (and in fact the second episode was only fair discovered at the beginning of 2004, and has never been seen anywhere since its new transmission in 1965!) This account features the Doctor and his companion Steven, with seldom seen companions Katarina and Sara Kingdom. This sage also features the first appearance of Nicholas Courtney, who would derive fame later in the program as the Brigadier. Plus, it has Daleks! Episode 2 also features a commentary track.

THE CELESTIAL TOYMAKER 4 - The final piece of a 4-part adventure, featuring the Doctor, Steven and Dodo playing a deadly game against the Celestial Toymaker, (played by Michael Gough, perhaps better known in this day and age as Alfred the Butler in the Batman movies of the 1990’s) . Titanic fun this one is.

As if that wasn’t enough, the DVD release also features a variety of surviving clips from various other Hartnell stories.

This collection is a genuine cherish! To be fair, it may not be the best pick for someone who is unprejudiced getting into Doctor Who, as these aren’t complete stories, but then again, they do offer an appealling assortment of goodies from three very different early stories. As dusky as it is that there are episodes missing from the early days of Doctor Who, it is gratifying that these gems to exist to give you a taste of the wonders they were creating for this current series.

One final designate - if you judge you might be at all involved in this, deem buying the Troughton status too, which contains a further 12 episodes from that era!

As most Doctor Who fans know, there are tall gaps in the archives for the sad and white era of the point to that featured the first two actors to play the role, William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton. Due to a total disregard for archiving material and, criminally, as a cost cutting exhaust, there was a systematic junking policy for `expired’ TV shows across many broadcast networks through to the 1970’s. In many ways, Doctor Who fared better than most with many complete stories surviving either in private hands or more often by delighted accidents.

Although anything to have survived is miraculous, in many cases, irritatingly, stories were left incomplete on the archive shelves. Comely distinguished useless to any broadcaster and indeed seemingly for home DVD or video release. But the vivid guys at the BBC have spotted a procedure to derive up all this stray material and package it together on a collection of three discs featuring not only eighteen complete episodes but a whole myriad of other snippets and gems from the vaults.

As a mountainous Doctor Who fan, I was thrilled to peruse all these homeless relics gathered together, but from a wider commercial viewpoint, I don’t deem it’s a particularly spellbinding project. But isn’t it incredible for fans to be indulged in this draw? I’d never seen either episodes of The Faceless Ones before, so this was a staunch treat, as it was to recognize the newly discovered gem from The Daleks’ Master Thought.

The predicament for me is that alone, or even where two or more episodes exist, it’s exceptionally frustrating to look what remains of these stories. If you’re watching episode one for example, you’re completely bent by the kill and then hugely disappointed that there is no more! For stories that fair have the irregular episode from the middle of the yarn, it’s enough to drive you barmy. My biggest irritation came from watching episode 4 of The Celestial Toymaker. What on earth is going on? It would have been so, so noteworthy better had the DVD contained a synopsis of what was missing to serve flesh out some of the material and set aside things into context. Definitely an opportunity missed. In a step towards this, there are soundtracks included for two missing episodes from The Crusade and The Moonbase, which does wait on complete those stories, but since photos exist of both missing episodes, why weren’t they included? When all there is to hear is music or sound effects, it leaves you bewildered as to what might be happening. A photo or a subtitle would have been so worthy more effective.

Also gathered from the cutting room floor are many, many short clips (in some cases, don’t blink or you’ll miss them) from other completely deleted episodes. It’s shadowy that in so many cases these split second clips are all that have remained. There’s also a lot of home movie footage, which is really consuming. I enjoy this to be the only color examples of footage from the era and although short, they are unbelievable to explore.

We can but hope that as time goes on, some of the missing material will turn up. No one would have plan the complete Tomb of the Cybermen would suddenly reappear in 1992. So hope springs eternal. Until then, here’s some classic Who, brilliantly restored and remastered to delight in.

This is a cheaply put-together re-release of shorts mostly from other DISNEY TREASURES TIN releases.

1) PRINCE AND THE PAUPER (1990) also on the Micky Mouse In Living Color Volume #2 TIN DVD release. That version is widescreen, this presentation is CROPPED.

2) THREE Petite PIGS (1933) also on the “Disney Treasures: Laughable Symphonies” DVD release.

3) TORTOISE AND THE HARE (1935) also on the “Disney Treasures: Droll Symphonies” DVD release.

4) THE GRASSHOPPER AND THE ANTS (1934) also on the “Disney Treasures: Funny Symphonies” DVD release.

5) THE PIED PIPER (1933) also on the “Disney Treasures: Funny Symphonies volume 2″ DVD release.

With the TIN DVD releases on tiny availability, I guess Disney hopes those who missed out will rob these 5-cartoon discs. The grievous stamp is misleading, when you rupture it down to individual cartoon cost this release is EXPENSIVE!

And no extras!

I bought this for my 3yr traditional twins, and from the first showing, I kept hearing giggling and laughing as they watched the cartoons. My girls already are familiar with some fairy tales, so they really loved “The Three Microscopic Pigs” and “The Pied Piper”. I highly recommend this DVD and believe it is a huge consume for parents with young children.

I am positive many fans of the clasic series were hoping these three episodes would be released together and determined enough the Doctor Who Restoration Team did not disapoint us. The three episodes in the box site hail from Doctor Who’s 20th aniversary Season (5th Doctor Peter Davison’s 2nd season) . While that season seemed a bit dis-jointed at times it did have one of those “moments” that reminded you why you loved Doctor Who in the First state. I am of course talking about the true “Gem” of this box state…Mawdryn Undead. This episode is so cleverly executed from initiate to execute. The writing, the direction and the acting are all top shelf! The fable revolves around a group of alien immortals deperatly trying to hurry the curse of immortality. The doctor is flung into the middle of their struggle by the crooked on revenge “Dim Gaurdian” and his emotionaly bent and unwilling assassan Turlough (sounds like ter-low) . The Doctor is aided in this episode by the returning Brigadere Lethbridge Stewart who is now retired from UNIT and teaching at an all boys school. This is truly the Brigadere’s finest hour in the program’s history as Nicholas Courtney returns to the role and plays the aging former to perfection. The episode also features a lustrous state twist that has the doctors companions Tegan and Nyssa sent aid in time some nine years or so and yet they are tranquil able to relieve the Doctor as events unfold. Other highlights are the quick-witted situation designs on Mawdryn’s ship, the music obtain and a nice miniature “flashback” during episode two…But I’ll say no more to protect first time viewers.

The other two episodes in the box station, Terminus and Enlightenment, have their moments but fail to reach up to the level of Mawdryn Undead. That being said this box station is worth every penny. If you have seen it recall it again and relive the magic of Mawdryn if for no other reason than to remeber how you felt after you viewed it for the First time ( I would imagine most Doctor Who Fan’s can remember exactly where they were the first time they saw this episode.) If you have never seen Mawdryn Undead (and I envy you) select it as well and indulge in One of Doctor Who’s finest hours….or hour and a half. Celery anyone???

I, too have a child with autism. He is 4 1/2 now. I have found that this was one of the most view out videos for speech development. Regarding my son, he honest needed to glimpse it repetitively - as most autistic people do. Once, he got faded to it, he LOVES it. It now holds my son’s attention, as well as my 19 month musty who now repeats so distinguished from it and names thsome of the toy props they employ - “ball, balloon, bubbles, car, etc.) I idea it was well made and applied. It has a lot of sensory movement which I feel is vary appropriate for our son. The visualization of sounds by the therapists is quite marvelous. My son is fixated on their mouths and tries to mimic their lips. My daughter’s speech thrapist has continuously aske to borrow it because other families want to eye it,too. I am purchasing two more of them (another for myself and one as a donation to our local library) . I like Baby Bumble Bee, too. It is very well made and I consider that having children as the interaction is a indispensable piece of the learning process. It is too advanced for my son, though.

We honest got our copy yesterday. All three of my children fancy to observe it (5,3 and 2) . My non-verbal 24 mth primitive laughs and giggles through the whole DVD and most importantly has attempted some of the sounds. We are really impressed with it. In fact, as far as encouraging gradual talkers, we would rate this one up there with “The Miracle of Mozart Numbers and Shapes”. “The Miracle of Mozart” takes a different advance by using kid’s voices to entice children to tell what they hear. This DVD uses Speech Therapists and is really usefull in motivating our non-verbal toddler. It will also prove you how to promote language. I can notice why the parent of a typical child with normal speech development might not be impressed with this product- but if you are a parent looking for something to relieve promote language, this is a sizable choice. Fine Luck.

While Tarzan was a moneymaker at MGM, with the outset of WWII, the studio felt Johnny Weissmuller was getting too customary, Maureen O’Sullivan wanted out of the series, and the overseas market was lost, so the series was dropped…but RKO would point to the Ape Man had a LOT of life left in him!

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Tarzan Collection Starring Johnny Weissmuller, Vol. 2! Click Here

Producer Sol Lesser loved the character, and snapped up the rights, wisely keeping Weissmuller, 39, and ‘Boy’ Johnny Sheffield, at nearly 12, in their signature roles. ‘Jane’ was written out of the first two features (first caring for her mother, then serving in the war), and the best-loved elements (superhuman heroics, comedy from chimp co-star, Cheetah, wild animal footage) were ‘beefed up’, dropping the romance, the atmospheric murky ‘extras’, that provided authenticity (but were expensive for a smaller studio to fill), and the MGM ‘glossiness’. Even the Tarzan ‘yell’ had to be replaced (as the manufactured howl, share Weismuller, allotment studio magic), was the property of the studio; Weismuller created a ‘new’ one, that would become so current that it would be kept, long after he finally retired from the role.

The first RKO entry was perhaps the best of the series; TARZAN TRIUMPHS brought the Nazis into the jungle to tap the resources of a ‘lost’ city, kidnapping Boy, and leading the previously isolationist Ape Man to recount the celebrated effect line, “Now Tarzan design war!” With heavenly Frances Gifford as a native princess, and Sig Ruman, inviting from Marx Brothers’ foil to one of Hollywood’s busiest ‘Nazis’, as one of the villains, the film is very spirited (if extremely violent…Tarzan encourages the locals to grab a gun and demolish, Boy shoots one Nazi soldier with a pistol, and even CHEETA machine guns one!) .

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Tarzan Collection Starring Johnny Weissmuller, Vol. 2! Click Here

TARZAN’S DESERT MYSTERY again offered Nazis (Otto Kruger, who’d played a similar role in Hitchcock’s SABOTEUR, a year earlier, and feeble veil baddie Joe Sawyer), an American girl magician (vivacious Nancy Kelly), and a chance to combine Nazi duplicity with an ‘Arabian’-themed adventure (which was a current genre during the war years) . Even a fantasy element was tossed in, as giant lizards and a mechanical spider ‘passing’ as ‘prehistoric’ appear in a ‘lost jungle’ climax.

TARZAN AND THE AMAZONS is closest in ’style’ to the earlier MGM ‘Tarzan’ films (offering a crocodile fight, a ‘classic’ safari with many more dark extras than in any other RKO ‘Tarzan’ feature of the era, friendly production values), and is most distinguished for introducing American Brenda Joyce, 33, as the current ‘Jane’, serve from the war. Blond and stunning, she lacked O’Sullivan’s lustrous ’spin’ to the role, but worked well with the 41-year-old Weissmuller, while providing a mother figure for ‘Boy’ that the ‘kid’ audience could report to. With a cast of terrific character actors (including Henry Stephenson, Maria Ouspenskaya, and Barton MacLane), and a space engrossing a ‘lost’ city of women, the film is one of the best-remembered RKO entries, and sizable fun!

TARZAN AND THE LEOPARD WOMAN marked the beginning of the decline of the RKO series; a routine, even comical record of a cult (dressed in cheesy leopard skins) and it’s high priestess (buxom Acquanetta) terrorizing the local population, and capturing Tarzan and his family. Memorable only for Cheeta saving Tarzan, yet again, and seeing ‘Boy’ Johnny Sheffield in the midst of puberty…

TARZAN AND THE HUNTRESS suffers from a crude budget and a ho-hum plot; entrepreneur Patricia Morison’s greedy crew extinguish a ‘lost city’ king to exceed their animal ‘quota’ for zoos, bringing out an aging Tarzan and startlingly adult-looking Boy; this would trace Sheffield’s last appearance in the role.

TARZAN AND THE MERMAIDS, Weissmuller’s final Tarzan appearance, is a truly surreal entry; filmed in Mexico, with musical interludes, the space features an Aztec temple complete with a ‘god’, and cliff-diving (in AFRICA??? ), and is best remembered for pleasing Linda Christian (Tyrone Power’s future bride), as a runaway native girl, and a musical obtain by legendary Dimitri Tiomkin. Weissmuller looks middle-aged and heavy, and would be replaced, in the next film, by young Lex Barker.

A mixed bag, to be definite, but immense fun, at it’s best, and certainly worth owning!

As Sean Connery is the definitive James Bond so goes for Johnny Weissmuller as Tarzan. Now were at RKO Studios and Maureen O’Sullivan has left but Johnny Sheffield stayed on as ‘Boy’.

TARZAN TRIUMPHS 1943 Stars our princess Francis Gifford, known by all as JUNGLE GIRL in the Republic serial (1941-see my review) . Cheetah has a enormous bit at the slay. This is probably the best of the RKO series. Tarzan v.s. NAZIS allotment one.

TARZAN’S DESERT MYSTERY 1943 Stars Nancy Kelly and Otto Kruger. It’s Tarzan v.s. NAZIS allotment two.

TARZAN AND THE AMAZONS 1945 Introduces Brenda Joyce as ‘Jane’ and includes Maria Ouspenskaya (WOLFMAN) as the Amazon Queen. No more Nazis here.

TARZAN AND THE LEOPARD WOMAN 1946 OK escapism but you can insist all keen are getting weary.

TARZAN AND THE HUNTRESS 1947 Probably the weakest entry but….

TARZAN AND THE MERMAIDS 1948 The last of the Weissmuller Tarzans. The stand out here is Linda Christian, ZOWIE!!!!

As a footnote the next was TARZAN’S MAGIC FOUNTAIN with Lex Barker in 1949 with Brenda Joyce and Evelyn Ankers (WOLFMAN) and a graceful splendid Tarzan movie–maybe it will kick off the next collection (post Weissmuller Tarzan??? ) .

We beget every Scholastic Video in the series & we consider this is one of the best! These “stories that sigh” are very catchy. My kids appreciate to speed around the coffee table (their get of dancing) to “There Was an Ancient Lady…” I admit when I first watched from afar the second memoir “Antarctic Antics”, I plan the illustrations were kinda dead, honest because I am not a ample fan of penguins…but since my kids put a question to this one ALL the time, I have since grown to Care For it. You are walked thru the life of a penguin. It is educational, but very intriguing with very comical lyrics like…”Antarctica, you’d better bring your partika” I accept myself singing this often :) Lots of talented singers to be enjoyed (including singer from the Mavericks.) We care for the bonus stories also (only on the DVD version.) Current author Lois Ehlert’s “Waiting for Wings” is Extraordinary, I mean truly Incredible!!! This one is a winner.

We occupy about 15 of the Scholastic Video DVDs, and have owned 11 of those for almost a year. This was one of the unique releases and is our absolute accepted of the current ones so far. My son is 4.5 and my class of 3 year olds also adored it. My customary kindergarten class would mild esteem it as first graders.

“There was an aged woman…” is hysterical, the illustrations, the narration and song by Cyndi Lauper of all people. “Antarctic Antics” is I judge my accepted selection of all times even topping “Chicka Chicka Roar Declare”. It is based on a book of poetry about Antarctica (I haven’t seem the book - yet) and it’s a mini rock musical of these poems. It has some enormous science and geography teaching too, but I really fancy the music. My son walks around singing these songs.

“Musical Max” is favorable. “Keeping House” is unique but cute. “Waiting for Wings” is another all-time accepted.

I am ecstatic with my occupy. Each workout is roughly 30 minutes each. They are broken down into a warm up, two different routinues using upper and lower body together with cardio, and a cold down/stretch. The cardio is a lot of jumping (mediate jumping jacks, etc.) What I really like about the workouts is that they are time efficient. I feel like I got a workout in 30 minutes and she combines upper and lower boday together. Maybe I’m crazy but I am starting to spy a incompatibility after 7 workouts. If you liked Jillian on the Biggest Loser, you’ll like her on the DVDs. Her personality is the same.

Why I gave the DVDs 4: There are no demos of the exercises, so if you are not familiar with the exercises in her book (Winning By Losing) you might want to seek the DVDs before you do them or to search for what the modified version of the consume is. I bear she mentions that in the intro as well. Also, there a lot of jumping. I read in another person’s review that that can be poor for joint problems, so something to judge.

Overall, I am very cheerful with my buy. I would recommend this to a friend and I will probably take it as a gift for someone in the future.

I like many enjoyed the Biggest Loser show; that is why I bought these DVD’s. I must say I am contented with the results I am getting by doing these workouts, even though they push me to my limits. I can not sight a beginner doing these, without modification you begin where you are and work up to it. I am a workout animal but Jillian puts me to shame. This has been the only workout that has taken my chubby percentage down.
