Say this for Zalman King — he knows how to film a sex scene. His films are frequently ludicrous and always seem to be in danger of collapsing under their own lurid symbolism but nobody can argue that he hasn’t come up with some truly erotic images. Partly this is because King has consistently cast some of the most beautiful and sensous actors and actresses in film today. A perfect example — the amazing Sherilyn Fenn is Two Moon Junction, the insane Southern melodrama that remains King’s “best film.” Fenn is the deceptively sweet daughter of a grand old Southern family who, despite being expected to marry a typically bland social equal, finds her drawn to drifer Richard Tyson. Now, this isn’t exactly a love story — at least not in the way that Hollywood usually makes love stories. What is made perfectly clear here is that the main attraction between Fenn and Tyson is that they have really great sex and a lot of it. And most of it on screen. Certainly, Burl Ives and Juanita Moore and a few other out-of-work name actors wander through the film without disrobing and King attempts to make a few “statements” about the nature of man. Fenn gives a strong performance (suggesting the charisma she’d later reveal in Twin Peaks) but in the end, this film becomes a rare combination of an unintentional campfest and an amazingly erotic film. Watching it seems to produce a bizarre combination of being both totally amused and seriously turned on.

Even though his name doesn’t seem to carry the same pop cultural amusement as it used to, Zalman King is still out there — fighting to get his whacked-out vision of a world obsessed with sex, jump cuts, and needless camera angles onto screens across the world. The man who once played Jesus Christ in the movies has gone on to be come the foremost purveyor of pretentious sleaze — i.e., films that try to hide their pornographic or exploitation roots by dressing all the sex and violence up with a bunch of metaphysical blather about the nature of man and such. And I say more power to him. Though King appears to take his work far too seriously and most of his films — when you get right down to it — are rather bad, they’re also very entertaining in a “Somebody-actually-made-this-way.” Zalman King is the Ed Wood of softcore — his plotlines and dialouge are always good for a laugh. And say what you might about his skills as a director, King knows how to make even the most ludicrous scenes erotic.

I went to see this film in a movie theater when it was released. A man in the audieance yelled out “What is the point of this?” during the movie. Honey, there is no point. Zalman King’s movies typically are geared toward male sexual fantasies, but this film will appeal more to women. Sherilyn Fenn is gorgeous and Richard Tyson will have women drooling. This is what porn should look like, from a woman’s point of view. Every woman friend that I know that has seen this has liked it. The plot is questionable, like plots are in a lot of Zalman King’s films, but it is erotic and steamy visually. Check out “Red Shoe Diaries” & “Delta of Venus” for more hot and sexually charged visuals.

My 18 month daughter was captivated by this video. She is a big Teletubbies fan, and she absolutely loves animals, so it doesn’t get much better than this for her. It’s very cute.

This is the least watched Teletubbie video in our house. However, it’s my favorite out of all of them. I’m not sure why my kids haven’t really gotten ‘into’ it.

Each little segment is about animals- a dog, a lamb and more. The Teletubbies sing about Mary and her little lamb, and more. I think the penguin part is fantastic.

Although the whole video is about animals, it is broken down into little segments that make it easier to reach a ‘good stopping point’ for children, so the option is there to only watch a short segment of it.

I use this video (and all others and TV) as a time for my kids to wind down at the end of the day or just prior to nap. A short time to just sit and turn off their brains for a few minutes. I know about the controversy surrounding the Teletubbies, but I just refuse to believe that this video teaching anything bad. It’s a cute video with cute little Teletubbies who are sweet and caring and gentle with animals and each other.

Gray (Jennifer Garner) thought that she and her fiance Grady would be getting married this weekend, but instead she’s attending his funeral. Already destroyed at the loss of what could have been, she’s devastated to learn that Grady had a secret life that he kept from her including a million dollar estate and a toddler love child. When the mother of said child comes looking for Grady, she must confront the past in order to have a future. Juliette Lewis gives her all as the slightly trampy quasi-Earth mother.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Catch and Release! Click Here

As Gray comes to terms with his betrayal, she turns to his roommates for solace and a place to stay since she can no longer afford the house they were renting. Through this quasi-extended family, she discovers the Grady she never knew, as well as the Gray that she is now becoming, and finds herself getting closer to his lothario friend Fritz (Timothy Olyphant), as friends Sam and Dennis also experience difficulty dealing with the loss of their friend.

Writer/director Susannah Grant, best known as the scribe behind “Erin Brokovich” and “In Her Shoes,” has created a poignant story of love, loss, and forgiveness. Kevin Smith shows a serious side as well as provides comic relief as Sam, the inspirational comment writer (okay, typist) for “Constant Comment Teas.” Veteran British actress Fiona Shaw, hysterical as the horny headmistress of the tony boarding school in “Three Men and a Little Lady,” dons an American accent and gives a heartwarming performance of a mother who just wants her son back. And Juliette Lewis is a bit chiched in the role of flighty masseuse Maureen, who apparently doesn’t own a pair of flat shoes.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Catch and Release! Click Here

Though some might find the romance between Gray and Fritz develop a little too quickly, I thought it was handled tastefully given the love-hate relationship between them and how thin the line between the two can be (though the ending was a bit rushed). Missing from the film was Grady himself - a couple flashbacks with him would have added depth to the relationship between Gray and Grady and given us a chance to find out what made him such a touchstone for the five lead characters.

The disc’s special features are minimal - just lots of movie trailers and commentary - nothing to write home about.

Okay, most of the time a film tries to be part comedy, part drama and part buddy picture, what it ends up being is a total wreck! Catch and Release beats the odds by being all the above while avoiding total wreck status. It’s that rarest of things, a film that reveals you don’t have to be married or be blood to grieve for somone you love and how many emotions grieving can reveal… including humor.

There is that chick-flick quality that will have guys begging off, but fortunately for me Kevin Smith acting in a film he didn’t direct was enough to convince me to go. The man can actually act, and not just in his own films. Unlike other films where a nonactor tries to step up, Kevin Smith was not a blank space on the screen. He held his own and then some. There’s even a certain degree of self parody of his profound-statement-delivering Silent Bob charater.

Moving on from Kevin, everyone else also did an excellent job. Jennifer Garner (Alias), Timothy Olyphant (Deadwood), Julliette Lewis, Sam Jaeger, Fiona Shaw and everyone else turned in strong performances as people trying to come to terms with the grief of losing a best friend, a fiancee, a provider and a son.

I found myself laughing at the horrible yet comic realism.

From what I understand this is Susannah Grants major motion picture directorial debut, but it didn’t feel like it. Already an extremely well proven screen writer, this may be Susannah’s first movie directing job, but with this many laughs and this much emotion, I know it won’t be her last.

Would you believe a spaceship with breasts? There’s one in this 1980 Roger Corman space opera! The spaceship has a female computer personality named Nell and a decidedly feminine shape, which includes two enormous breast-like mounds on its underside. Since there is no nudity in this movie, which is unusual in a Corman film, he had to get the breasts in somewhere, so model designer/builder/art director James Cameron put them on the space craft! Very amusing indeed! Cameron went on to design bigger and better things, like the Titanic.

Battle Beyond the Stars was the biggest-budgeted movie Corman had ever made up to that time, about 2 million dollars, and his money is up there on the screen, with good sets, good props, good special effects, and a good cast. In typical Corman fashion everything except the cast was used over and over again in other space sagas he made. Waste not, want not! is his credo, and he boasts that he’s never lost a dime on any of his movies. I believe it.

The plot of this movie was stolen shamelessly from Akira Kurosawa’s classic Seven Samurai, so if you liked that Japanese epic and its American remake, The Magnificent Seven, you should like Battle Beyond the Stars, too. It just goes to show that if you have to steal a story, you might as well steal a great one!

The cast includes Richard Thomas, just out of his John-Boy of The Waltons role, as a poor man’s Luke Skywalker recruiting mercenaries George Peppard, Robert Vaughn, Marta Kristen, and Sybil Danning, among others, to fight the evil conqueror Sador, played by John Saxon, always a good villain.

Never one to miss a trend, or start one, Corman cashed in on the phenomenal success of Star Wars with Battle Beyond the Stars. It’s a fun film and I recommend this DVD widescreen edition. There’s interesting commentaries by Gale Anne Hurd, John Sayles and Roger Corman, movie trailers, biographies, trivia game, scene index — but the usual Corman filmography booklet is absent here.

Great memories accompany this movie for me, thankfully the producers of this DVD have honored this production with a jam-packed feature full of special features. I was not even a teenager when this movie was released back in 1980 yet a group of friends and I made the pilgrimage to a local cinema to see it. With an interesting set of diverse characters the movie plays as a science fiction version of the Seven Samurai. A “Magnificent Seven in Space” as it were, it even features Robert Vaughn of that 60s gem. The real pleasure of the DVD however is the wealth of special features. We not only have one optional audio commentary, but two very informative pieces. There are preview trailers for other Corman productions such as “Piranha”. We even get a trivia game. I certainly recommend this movie.

Iron Monkey is available for streaming or downloading.

Iron Monkey is definitely one of the best (if not THE best) kung-fu movie ever made. The story is nice and simple enough to follow with ease and the fight scenes are nothing less than breathtaking.

This American version of Iron Monkey totally downgrades the movie. OK, so they added to the story at the beginning and also remastered both audio and video. They even kept the original Cantonese language. Sounds like the best remastered kung-fu movie? Well, not exactly. Though what they added is great, what they took out was totally uncalled for. First, they deleted scenes. I would understand deleting irrelevant scenes but why delete fight choreography? I don’t understand why some of the fight scenes were cut short, especially the final fight as it’s the best one. It doesn’t make sense at all. Secondly, they deleted dialogue. A big part of kung-fu is actually calling the attack one is about to do. Donnie Yen’s character (Wong Kei-ying) has this signature move called the “Shadowless Kick” which he yells out when he executes it. They completely took that off along with other called attacks for some reason and that just takes the flavor out of the fighting. Finally, they changed the story with the subtitles. If you don’t speak Cantonese (which I don’t) you won’t get what the characters actually say as the subtitles are NOT actual translations. This really feels like a dumbed down version for the American audience.

I’ve seen two other versions of this DVD. One is the original Region 0 version from HK and the other is the Region 2 Collector’s Edition that I bought. The Region 2 is a perfectly remastered version of the ORIGINAL movie with crisp sound and video with REAL subtitles. The only thing about this version is that it’s PAL video format whereas the Region 0 is NTSC. I give this Region 1 release 2 stars just because it’s Iron Monkey. The added content was nice but they shouldn’t have cut so many things. I recommend buying the original Region 0 HK DVD (green cover with the 2 ninjas) or the Region 2 version if you can play PAL discs. However, if you’re not picky and just want a glimpse of this movie, buy this release.

Why can’t the people at Dimension Home video get it right for once??? They messed up every single martial arts movie release by not providing the original language tracks and cutting scenes. This time with Iron Monkey, they were wise enough to remaster the original chinese language track, but they still decide to cut. For me, cutting a fighting scene, especially if its the last one, is a no no…and I, like another reviewer here, love it when Wong Kei-Ying or Wong Fei Hung call out their special move (Shadowless Kick) before they actually do it. Anyways, for those that don’t know, this movie was made in 1993 and it took long enough to come over here. This is a story of a Robin Hood like character who steals from the rich corrupt govt officials and gives to the poor towns people. He goes by the name of Iron Monkey (played by Rongguang Yu), a hero to the townspeople, and a wanted man by the officials. The officials are arresting anyone that looks suspicious. While in town to shop for medicine, Wong Kei-Ying (played by the awesome Donnie Yen) and his son, the very young Wong Fei Hung get in a quarrel with some thugs and get arrested for suspicion. The chief official learns of Wong Kei-Ying’s great martial arts, and by force sends him to take out the Iron Monkey while his son Wong Fei Hung is held in custody. To make it simple, Wong Kei-Ying and the Iron Monkey will eventually team up and fight some interesting govt officials. Donnie Yen pretty much steals the show in this film as Wong Kei-Ying, and he is the reason why I watched it. His kicking ability and speed are just awesome. Yeun Woo Ping once again lends a hand in making a decent choreographed film. I must admit there is more wirework here than I would want to see, but thankfully Donnie saves it here. The kid that plays Wong Fei Hung (a boy?…I’ve heard it was a girl too) is pretty awesome in this movie as well. Basically, theres plenty of fighting action in this film to keep action fans happy, and the ones with Donnie Yen are the best. Now, to the dvd…quentin tarantino and Dimension is getting a lot of heat from me for the cutting. Folks, if you are able to play Region 2 PAL dvds…then the Hong Kong Legends version of Iron Monkey is the essential copy to own…completely uncut, remastered audio (Original Chinese and English) and video, and some interesting extras. If not, then get the Media Asia HK version (green box) for that is uncut as well, but not as crisp clear as the Region 2. I wrote this review in full support of Donnie Yen, he is one of the best martial artist to be caught on film. Check out his other greats such as In The Line of Duty IV, Tiger Cage 2, Wing Chun (alongside Michelle Yeoh), and OUATIC 2 (alongside Jet Li). For those that dont know, hes also the asian guy in Blade 2. Anyways, Iron Monkey is a classic and well worth your buck. Check this movie out and check my other HK reviews too…hope this was helpful.

Lest anyone think this is the same old story of the moon shot, “One Small Step For Mankind” and all that, Nova’s “To The Moon” is actually two fascinating hours of many of the stories that have been overlooked about man’s journey to the moon. Few people know about the man who advocated the method of travel, called Lunar-Orbit Rendezvous, or why he was unpopular even after his contribution led to man getting to the moon. Few people know why Kennedy vaguely said we should get a man to the moon “by the end of the decade.” Few people know the history of the Gemini program, lost between the Tom Wolfe heroics of Mercury and the Cold War glories of Apollo. Few people know about the later astronauts–in fact, how many people can name an astronaut after the Apollo 11 crew? (If you saw “Apollo 13″ this might not be as hard.) The clips of the last mission on the moon, with happy-go-lucky geologist Harrison Schmidt dancing around digging for moonrocks, is worth the price of the DVD alone. Highly recommended as an educational tool as well as a fun ride. Public schools would be wise to teach kids history in this lively way.

Nova should be commended for producing this excellent documentary. The important decisions, such as the choice of Lunar Orbit Rendezvous, are covered in a comprehensible yet comprehensive manner. The background of Apollo, especially in the now almost forgotten Gemini program, is covered, as are the evolution of the Saturn launchers, CSM, and LM.

A natural focus of the DVD are the Apollo 8 and Apollo 11 missions, which are covered in some detail, but other less memorable yet important (i.e., the ‘Genesis rock’, the Apollo 13 near disaster, etc.) areas are covered thoughtfully as well.

The editing and factual accuracy is absolutely superior, and the overall value is unbeatable. If you only own one documentary on the Apollo program, make it this one.

I enjoyed the first and second ( Rise Of Taj) Van Wilder movies . They are in my collection. I bought this one thinking it would fall somewhere in between. I purchased the unrated version thinking the Babes would carry the movie if the acting was weak. . WRONG! Ryan Reynolds IS “Van Wilder” , Jonathan Bennett is not even close. When the actor playing his prequel father is more beliveable thats bad . If they had made this movie with a diffrent title it might have been watchable fare, hot babes & college pranks. . This Van Wilder movie is more like what you expect after the seventh sequel not the third. Save your brain cells, time and money .Go watch the first two and leave this on the shelves untill they take it back to the studio.

Okay so here’s the best review you can get: “This movie is not worth your money.” … and even if you’re seeing it at a friends it’s not worth your time. There you have it.

LOST ROOM is an intriguing, thought-provoking science fiction mini-series which was shown on the Sci-Fi Channel from December 11th to the 13th in three parts: “The Key and the Clock,” “The Comb and the Box,” & “The Eye and the Prime Object.” This show offers up a neat-concept, sci-fi mystery that’ll keep you guessing and glued to the set; and the good news, so far, is that there’s nary a mention of that played-out plot about space aliens conducting experiments on unsuspecting Earthlings, a card which I was half-expecting this show to play.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Lost Room! Click Here

Here we go now with TONS OF SPOILERS: In the 1960s, a mysterious event transpires at the Sunshine Motel in Gallup, New Mexico, off the famous Route 66. Since then, various everyday objects that had been in Room 10 of that motel - objects numbering around a hundred and now scattered to the winds - seem to have inexplicably gained vast and wondrous powers (a comb that freezes time for 10 seconds when run thru one’s hair, a pen that, when clicked, microwaves your enemies, a radio which, when tuned to the right station, grants 3 inches of height, a deck of cards which will disable onlookers, a nail file which induces sleep, etc.). A belief circulating underground is that a grouping of these objects will cause them to exhibit new properties and grant their owner god-like powers, even possibly allowing the owner access to the mind of God… Inevitably, over the past decades, disparate groups have sought these objects for their own varying purposes. Which then brings us to the show’s protagonist: Joe Miller.

In the course of investigating a baffling case involving two men found burned to a crispy death in a pawn shop, Pittsburg homicide detective and single dad Joe Miller (Peter Krause, SPORTS NIGHT, SIX FEET UNDER) comes upon a magical motel room key which, when used on any convenient door, gives him access to an eternally sun-drenched motel room frozen in time since the 1960s. Miller discovers that, from this motel room, he can reach any destination he calls to mind. He learns of another odd quirk of the room: no matter what he does to it or in it, the room resets itself to its original composition the next time he enters.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Lost Room! Click Here

His digging of clues leads him to an eccentric named Wally (Peter Jacobson), who owns a bus ticket which teleports whosoever is smacked on the head with it. Wally proceeds to unload pertinent info on Miller regarding the motel room and the amazing objects which had been occupying it. Wally further informs Miller that these indestructible artifacts are drawn to each other, then warns him that people will soon come looking for him - “bad people” who are desperate to possess the key. Rapidly after, Miller’s quest for truth finds focus tragically close to home when his charming, young daughter, Anna (Elle Fanning, Dakota’s younger sis), vanishes in the mysterious Room 10.

In his efforts to find his daughter, Miller becomes hunted by his fellow police, who come to believe that he has kidnapped Anna; he also runs afoul of other organizations - various shadowy cabals, some of them despicable and ruthless, bent on collecting the items to gain incalculable powers (such as the determined Karl Kreutzfeld’s group) or to talk to God (such as the nutjob Order of Reunification) and the Legion, a supposedly more benevolent group who seeks to protect humanity by destroying these items. Miller must evade the clutches of the cabals and remain vigilant against the Legion as he drastically attempts to unearth the history of the enigmatic Room 10 and the Sunshine Motel. Things get more chancy as it seems the only way to retrieve his daughter is to ferret out the Primal Object, the controlling item which holds dominion over all the other items. But which one is it? Can the aid of several quirky characters and the beautiful Jennifer Bloom (Julianna Margulies, ER), who seems to have secrets of her own, be enough for Miller to survive and gain back his daughter? Well, with the possibility of an ongoing series on the Sci-Fi Channel, I’d bet on it.

Viewers seeking a quick and easy resolution to the mystery will be disappointed here as the mini-series concludes with plenty of questions left unanswered. In fact, the last half hour of Part 3 engages more in launching new plotlines than in closing the book on existing ones… again, paving the way for a regular series. The cast is pretty darn good. Peter Krause as the desperate Joe Miller plays up just the right amounts of panicky fatherhood and resourceful detective and does it with a relatable, down-to-earth panache. Kevin Pollak plays the cold and deadly, mob-type boss, Karl Kreutzfeld, with charm and civilized vindictiveness. Pollak, a comedian turned very capable actor, makes you actually feel compassion for his character once you find out his real motivation. Sleazy operator Howard “the Weasel” Montague is played with zest by Roger Bart, while Elle Fanning (Dakota’s younger sis) is okay as Miller’s cute kid. I do feel that Julianna Margulies could’ve done more with her part; she seemed quite disinterested in the goings-on, but I acknowledge that her role was pretty thankless.

The powers-that-be made a good decision in allowing the involving story to become the star of the show, as opposed to bludgeoning us with multiple, flashy special effects. As it is, the effects that do pop up are nicely executed and are perfectly in tune with the story. The budget must’ve been nice.

As I’ve mentioned, this mini-series is intriguing, and part of the intrigue is that it deliberately chooses to leaves holes in its storyline. Part of whether the viewer ultimately sees this show in a positive light will depend on his or her reaction to the barrage of questions that are left unanswered. The series is wagering that the audience will be so caught up in the mystery that it ultimately chooses to support it. LOST ROOM will have those inclined thinking in philosophical and metaphysical terms, and there might be a bit of quantum physics thrown in that mix, too. And for we lesser mortals - who just aren’t built towards intellectual ponderings - fear not; there is enough steady infusion of uneasy alliances, betrayals, plot twists, action, and cool f/x to satisfy our craving for low-brow entertainment. Now, I don’t know how well this premise would work as a regular television series; there’s a danger that things might get too predictable and stale after a few showings. I’m assuming that each episode would involve the hunt for an empowered object, and really, how many curve balls can you throw to make that consistently interesting? But wouldn’t it be nifty to find out?

I really enjoyed this Sci Fi miniseries. It was an original concept with a well developed plot and generally good acting. Being from western Pa, I enjoyed the fact that it was set in Pittsburgh. I won’t describe the plot, that’s already been done in previous reviews. So let’s describe the DVD. I had recorded the complete series, but enjoyed it so much I decided to spring for the DVD. Now you would assume that the manufacturer would take the time to insure all the features, menu options, etc. worked as displayed on the screen. You would however be wrong. I knew I was in trouble when removing the security stickers. There is so much glue on them that you get a thick layer of sticky goo on the top and bottom of the DVD case. Great start. When you load Disc 1, you get some previews for some other Lionsgate productions. A Bermuda Triangle (another Sci Fi miniseries) preview is included and the transfer looks like it came from a VCR. Anyway, you get though this stuff (the menu button is disabled) and are presented with THE LOST ROOM. There are 4 “episode” radio buttons and a Play All radio button. As you step through these, you will note that the “highlight” doesn’t match the radio button. (but surprisingly, go to an episode and back and it does) As noted in another review, the Play All button does not work and takes you back to the previews. Really frustrating. However, the worst part, is that the video transfer quality is horrendous. I am so disappointed, I haven’t even bothered with disc 2. So be warned, if you buying this because you enjoyed “The Lost Room”, you will be really disappointed in lack of effort Lionsgate put into this DVD. Review: Miniseries 5 stars - DVD 1 star = Average 2.5 stars (rounded up).

This begins the second “season” of this story. While it builds somewhat on the original storyline,it adds new plots but only a few new cast. It is less complicated than the first series and the fan service is somewhat subdued which alows more attention to be paid for the evolving story line.”Mou-chan”,long one of my favorites, begins to emerge as a more central character that grows further as this series continues into the third season. The lance-armed girl on the cover also begins to rise in plot status that continues throughout the entire series while Hukufu’s starring role is retained. This volume is a neccessary step in a continuing storyline that the devotees will not soon tire of.

Having picked up the original WISEGUY releases a few years ago from Ventura Distribution, I was naturally curious to see what Mill Creek has done with the property in the new release (The Complete First Season) that came out this week. If you don’t have the previous sets, I recommend it and give it 4 out of 5 stars on the strength of the material moreso than the set itself. Here’s my initial observations, positives and negatives…

-Price is MUCH more affordable (It’s $9.99 on Amazon for the complete first season, whereas the previous releases were around $40 for each half of the 1st season)

-Release is indeed the entire 1st season (the previous releases split it in half, with one DVD set of Steelgrave, and another DVD set of Profitt)

-”Knights in White Satin” song has still been replaced in the Steelgrave finale (it was replaced with the same instrumental music in the original DVD as well)

-The song originally used in the first part of the Mel Profitt arc as Vinnie and Roger arrive at the yacht party was substituted with generic music on the original release, but in this DVD, that particular song HAS BEEN RESTORED!

-The prints used appear to be the same remastered prints from the original release, but they don’t look as sharp (in fact, they look fuzzier) simply because there is more compression and probably a lower bit rate being used in the disc authoring (they have placed 5 episodes each on Discs 1 and 2, and 6 episodes each on Discs 3 and 4)

-The audio is Mono, compared to the 5.1 soundtracks on the original release

-No extras whatsoever (the originals had audio commentaries, interviews with much of the cast, and some bonus stand-alone episodes from other seasons)

-The discs each come in black envelopes held in place in a snapper case

-Menus are static (originals featured video), but they have a great selection of music from the opening of the “New Blood” episode, and have the episodes listed as part of Vinnie’s “file”

-The series’ pilot was featured in 1 complete part (as originally aired) on the original release, but is split into 2 parts in this DVD set (and it’s a weird break, not at the halfway point but much later). The second part opens immediately without any credits

-Chapters have been added to the episodes (the original Steelgrave set didn’t have any) but the chapter breaks are not at the commercials

While I haven’t watched each episode yet to determine if there are any glitches with the audio/video, my initial observations are that it’s a good set considering you get all of the excellent 22 1st season shows (counting the pilot as 2 parts) for a very low price, and they look good even upconverted on a 46-inch HDTV as I viewed them. However, if you already own the first DVD sets, I see no reason here for an upgrade, unless you want the original song featured in the 1st Mel Profitt episode which is now intact, or unless you want to have the entire first season all contained in 1 box (don’t sell off your original sets, though).

I bought this from Best Buy on Tuesday and just watched the Steelgrave arc today(Saturday).

The music is edited! Nights in White Satin has been edited out of the climax and it totally ruins the mood of the scene. Picture quality is average; it looks like an 80’s show. There are no extras included in this set. There are four discs in the set which are packaged in cheap paper sleeves. Discs 1 & 2 are the Steelgrave arc with 5 episodes each. Discs 3 & 4 are the Profitt arc with 6 episodes each.
