I’ve always loved Dragonball, i was very aroused when this came out, and when i bought it I was very confused and yet cheerful with what I saw, let me interpret. I hope you have seen Dragonball the series before getting this dvd.
The Legend itself has been changed. Goku meets people in a different order in a different state and such. For example, you may remember Goku meets Olong in a village, while in this dvd he finds him in the desert. As the movie goes on more and more stuff changes, soon your no longer looking at Dragonball, but at a whole recent memoir altogether. this was both murky (being this is a DRAGONBALL remake, but also ample that a unusual narrative was made)
The art was updated, looks more Dragonball GT’ish, then the older looking Dragonball art. This of course was substantial, and very nice looking.

The audio is gigantic, the voices in both english and japanese were nice, and the sound quality was proper.
the visuals were somewhat dreadful. At some times there were scratches in the film (minor, but you’ll perceive them) . I was hopeing they could fix this, but they didn’t.
The dvd itself is ok. The menu is boring but nice, the extra’s unfortunatly are objective Trailers and Character Bios.

All together I rate the dvd 8/10. I suggest picking this up if you like Dragonball. I do NOT suggest getting this if your unusual or have never seen dragonball, because this really chages the narrative ALOT. Delight In!
To be just, I’m not exactly definite what to rate this film. There were some really suited parts and some really bizarre parts. I snarl I’ll honest begin from the beginning.
As far as I know, this film was made to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the anime (it started in 1986, and this film was made in 1996) . Basically (in a procedure) it sort of re-tells how Goku met Bulma and re-tells the adventures which occured in the anime.
Strangely enough, chronologically, the stuff that happens in the film is completely different than the anime/manga. That’s what’s really irregular about it, really. I guess I really didn’t like how they re-told the Dragon Ball epic. Anybody novel to the series who sees this will be utterly confused. Those with more experience with the demonstrate and those who have seen the entire Dragon Ball series may mediate differently, however.
I’ll have to say that I like the “updated” Toriyama designs. Instead of looking like the unusual designs, they’ve been somewhat redrawn to stare more like they did in Dragon Ball Z. I idea that was frosty. I also really liked the animation sequences. The intense battle scenes were frosty.
I didn’t like how anti-climactic the ending was, either. I’m not going to say exactly what happened, but factual when I understanding the film was reaching a climax, it fair ends, which peeves me a minute. Why? I spent a lot of money on this item, and now I’m not so distinct if I want to support it.
Personally, if you have no belief whether you want this movie, you should rent it first. Perhaps I’ll recognize it a few more times before I acquire my final decision whether I want to support it or not, but to me, this “re-telling” of Dragon Ball is honest queer and confusing to me.
