Volume Two of Naruto is what, in my oppinion, made the demonstrate a masterpiece. The character deatil shown here is some of the most entertaining in any anime. This volume contains the slay of the Zabuza arc and the begin of the Chunin Exams arc. And let me say, what a diagram to raze Naruto’s first arc. It had me in tears. One of the most touching scenes I’ve ever seen in an anime. If you liked Volume One, you’ll Adore Volume Two… and beget me, you’ll be itching for more.

Naruto Uncut Boxed Plot Volume 2 is one of the best DVD purchases I’ve made. The series teaches a lot of life lessons for children and adults and the substance of the program is remarkable more than you would initially inquire. It teaches one to never give in even when the odds are against you- a very excellent life lesson. Naruto is one of the best anime series’ ever created besides Dragon Ball Z which is my all time celebrated. It has stout character depth & quality, awesome animation and chronicle storylines, battles and dialogue. But this judgment cannot be reached by impartial veiwing these first two DVD sets. Peek the series for yourself and you will snappily become a beleiver…BELEIVE IT!!!Naruto Uncut Boxed Region, Volume 2
Problem sleep Blog
Energy Supplement

In October of 1955, Charles Schulz did a series of “Peanuts” strips dealing with Schroeder and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. Schroeder listens to it in an overcoat because the first movement was so magnificent it gave him chills. The October 27th strip has Charlie Brown reading to Schroeder how: “At the conclusion of the symphony the audience stood up and cheered. Beethoven, however, because of his deafness could not hear them, and because his abet was to the audience could not leer them. With Tears in her eyes one of the singers led Beethoven to the edge of the stage where he could watch the cheering people.” At this point Schroeder buries his face in his hands and emits a heartbroken “Roar.”

Buy,Download, Or Stream Copying Beethoven! Click Here

There are many stories about that first performance, and while no one knows for clear what has the most credence is that Beethoven wanted to conduct his work, but his deafness made it impossible, so Michael Umlauf, the Kapellmeister of the Kärntnertortheater in Vienna conducted the orchestera. Beethoven was late him on the stage, giving the tempos at the beginning of each movement and beating the time. The orchestra had been instructed to ignore the composer and when the symphony was over Beethoven was smooth beating time and turning pages of the pick up. That was when the contralto Caroline Unger walked over and turned Beethoven around to witness the cheering audience, who were raising their hands and throwing things into the air to execute up for the fact the man they were cheering could not hear their ovation.

“Copying Beethoven” looks at the last years of the life of Ludwig van Beethoven (Ed Harris) and writers Stephen J. Rivele and Christopher Wilkinson, who did the screenplays for the biopics of “Ali” and “Nixon” (and are currently working on a film about Jackie Robinson), build the fictional character of Anna Holtz (Diane Kruger), a young woman who is sent to the apartment of the maestro to turn his current pages for the find of the 9th Symphony into something that can actually be read and printed for the orchestra. At the premier performance of the work the composer will indeed conduct the work himself, but with Anna working as his ears to give him the respectable tempos, and it will be Anna who will turn Beethoven around so that he can study the applause.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Copying Beethoven! Click Here

What will surprise you is that this film’s interpretation of this memorable moment comes not at the waste of “Copying Beethoven,” but about an hour into this 2006 film. It is the highpoint of the film and then the legend continues for another half hour, with decidedly less impressive results. My current scene actually comes early in the film, when Anna is trying to justify that she is indeed the copyist who has been sent to turn his fresh pages for the pick up of the 9th Symphony into something that can actually be read and printed for the orchestra. It is in its absorb itsy-bitsy wall the counterpart to the scene at the raze of “Amadeus” when Mozart is explaining to Saliari how the pieces of “De Profundus” fit together in his “Mass.” Beethoven finds an “error,” and in her explanation we have our proof that Anna knows what she is doing and a watch into the technical nature of Beethoven’s genius. But far too often director Agnieszka Holland (”Europa Europa”) focuses on Anna instead of the maestro.

Ultimately, “Copying Beethoven” is too caught up in the character of Anna. What could have been a nice conceit, giving the maestro someone to talk to about living with deafness and to reveal what he was doing to change the world of music, is turned into a proto-feminist figure who wants to compose her contain impress as a composer. As he turned deaf Beethoven started keeping conversation diaries, a rich source of the composer’s thoughts regarding his music, so there are current source material to be mined for gems similar to what we earn a ogle of early in the film. Instead, we destroy time on Anna’s struggle to write music, a plotline that really has no where to go and which ends up being enveloped in the thought that the Beethoven’s last works so radical and so far ahead of their time that they could not be comprehended by the audiences of the Romantic Ear.

I have to say that the accurate performance of the 9th is far too short for my taste and the emphasis becomes not so distinguished the music as it is the area where it takes both Beethoven and Anna (ironically, while he is conducting without ears as it were, she keeps closing her eyes as she becomes enraptured) . There is a predicament in that the draw the set is area up you are inclined to deem that they are skating on the edge of inconvenience and that either one of them could effect a dismal mistake. This tends to win away from the music and at least there are a few shots of members of the audience moved by the realization that this deaf ragged man, who had not premiered a symphony for a dozen years, was unleashing a work of monumental greatness.

“Copying Beethoven” also suffers in comparison to “Immortal Beloved”, the 1994 film about the composer that had the virtue of framing Beethoven’s life in the quest to reveal the mystery woman in his life. But watching Harris play Beethoven conducting his symphony is elegant appealing and throughout this movie there is always Beethoven’s music, so there is vast grounds to round up on this film. Finally, if the main conclude of this film is that you go out and listen to the 9th Symphony from commence to conclude, which is exactly what I did, then you would be ahead of the game.

The best thing going for this movie is Ed Harris’ electrifying performance as Beethoven. He captures Beethoven’s musical genius and his murky side, as a coarse and rude man.

Other reviewers have done an friendly job of describing the tale. What I want to comment on is the masterful job done by the screenwriters and the performers of capturing the compositional genius of Beethoven.

What I really liked about the movie:

1) The scenes of Beethoven composing his music

The transformation of Beethoven’s egomania to one of thanksgiving: Initially, Beethoven was wrathful at God for giving him a musical gift and then making him deaf. He would purposedly produce statements about God that border on blasphemy. Those statements showed his frustration at God for allowing him to become deaf so he could no longer listen to his compositions but had to rely on a earpiece or on vibrations. Later on, as the film progresses, Beethoven discovers how God speaks to him through music and he makes his peace with God through composing a hymn of thanksgiving towards the extinguish of his life. His dialogue to Anna about how he can sense the verbalize of God through music were very fascinating.

The scenes of Beethoven composing are the most memorable scenes in this movie for me — he clearly has the titanic gift of being able to portion together all the musical forms in his head. These scenes reminded me of “Amadeus” when Mozart was able to inspect how all the different parts of different instruments advance together in his symphonic compositions.

Through these scenes we pick up to view how God chose to deposit his musical gifts in a very current and ordinary man who is elephantine of shortcomings and weaknesses.

2) Ed Harris does a astronomical job of capturing the divergent natures of Beethoven — on one hand he is a musical genius, but on the other hand, he is quite a brute of a man. On one hand, he could be gentle and tender, but on the other, he could suddenly become “The BEAST” — be extremely cruel and harsh in his ridicule and mockery. While Beethoven is busy composing a fresh musical work, he could also be pouring water on his disheveled hair and drive his neighbors crazy with his whisper disregard for their well-being as he ruins their dinner times.

3) The astonishing music in the film: Not only do we derive to hear the fabulous movements of the 9th Symphony, but we find to hear excerpts of the String Quartet and other works. The movie could have done without “Fur Elise” (which is overplayed to death) — we could have had more of some of his sonatas and chamber works.

4) The extraordinary featurette “Orchestrating Beethoven” which offered tremendous interviews of the director, script writers, and cast members. It was very insightful. The featurette and deleted scenes are mountainous.

What I didn’t like about the movie:

1) The over-emphasis on the importance of Anna Holtz to Beethoven. Other reviewers have rightly criticized the movie as having too considerable of a feminist curved in this legend of Beethoven. As the featurette in the Special Features define, the account of Anna Holtz as the gifted female compositional student is a work of fiction — Anna Holtz is an example of artistic license on the section of screenwriters; she is a composite of all the different assistants that helped Beethoven.

For dramatic finish and for creating a strong female character, the screenwriters created Anna Holtz to be the one assistant that comes to the succor of Beethoven in both his personal life and his compositional & musical efforts. As Diane Kruger portrays her, Anna is comely, smart, gifted, and perceptive. She is everything that Schlemmer (Beethoven’s aging male assistant) is not. She is able to discern the thoughts and feelings of Beethoven — she is the perfect assistant to back complete and “fair” Beethoven’s compositions. At the climactic end, she is perfectly in sync with Beethoven as he conducts the 9th Symphony. She is able to conduct objective as Beethoven does. In fact they become “one” in their conducting.

Historical and musical purists may be infuriated at these scenes.

2) It is highly doubtful that Beethoven conducted the 9th symphony with the wait on of a female assistant giving him the rhythmic cues. Yet, this forms the climax of the movie.

All this aside, I felt that the movie was very worthwhile to seek. It was a very tantalizing and inspirational portrait of Beethoven. In fact, I judge it is the best portrayal of Beethoven for a feature film. It is a grand better film on Beethoven than “Immortal Beloved” (which I judge was very chaotic and unorganized) .

If you’re a classical music lover and a Beethoven fan, this movie is well-worth watching. I have you’ll be impressed by Harris’ acting.

I agree completely with the guy who wrote the first review up there. That last episode (25) was a sail and a half. Aloof, the anime me and him watched may be different from the ones released here in the United States. Some of the stuff that happens in the Japanese version may be reduce out of the American version simply because of it’s so graphic (without a doubt the most disturbing stuff I’ve ever seen) . At first search for, the jabber seems gratuitous, but when one appreciates the purpose of the series, it becomes positive why the imagery is so deeply disturbing. Anyways, if you do resolve to follow this series to the raze (which you should if you’ve gotten this far), All I can say is brace yourself.

What is most essential? Valor, magic, destiny, appreciate? Which of these have the greatest influence on human behavior? In this is the second DVD in the ‘Berserk’ series, we accept ourselves enmeshed in the violence of an imaginary, horribly violent world, where crowns and empires are mild to be had for the taking. We follow Guts, a mercenary leader in the service of the White Hawk - a military group led by Griffith, an albino soldier who has the air of some substantial destiny about him.

These episodes initiate with the White Hawks attempting to acquire control of a castle, but unable to defeat the leader of the opposition. Zod, rumored to be a Nosferatu, is making hash of Guts troops, and he and Griffith both enter the castle to steal on the fighter. They survey themselves faced with a giant demon, and only Griffith’s amulet, the Crimson Behelit of the God Hand seems able to set up any resistance. The amulet with play a allotment again later underscoring the understanding that magic or fate is somehow driving events. There is something shadowy about the amulet, and thus about it’s bearer as well.

In other episodes, we are introduced to the politics of the Midland Empire, as Griffith begins his climb into the ranks of the nobility. The other lords behold him as a commoner, and deeply resent his success. While Griffith seems to thrive in the conspiracies, Guts becomes increasing poor. He is, after all, a straightforward swordsman, and has cramped patience for courtly things.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Berserk - Immortal Soldier! Click Here

In spite of an unending saga of violence (two castles are conquered and an assassination attempted) the relationships between Griffith, Guts, and Caska become complicated by Caska’s jealousy over Gut’s access to Griffith. Both of the Lieutenants are confounded when a honest romantic complication, Princess Charlotte comes into play. How this will work out remains to be discovered in later episodes, but this distinguished dynamic tension is certain to have explosive results as the series develops.

When I first looked at this series I expected the mountainous amount of swordplay and bloodshed to keep me off. Yet is hasn’t, and the development of the other record arcs has made this noteworthy more than a medieval kill-a-thon. Even so, you have to have a fairly high tolerance for military drama in order to find to the honest location. Preserve this in mind, but also remember that there is mighty more to the chronicle.
Smoke Away
TOBI Wrinkle Remover

Disc 2:

2002 American Masters Documentary: Gene Kelly: Anatomy of a Dancer (Gene Kelly - Anatomy of a Dancer)

`S Wonderful: The Making of An American in Paris, an all original documentary, produced especially for this release. A dynamic history of the making of the film, which reveals how George and Ira Gershwin’s classic songs, the splendid art of the French impressionists and the ultimate teamwork of MGM’s legendary “Freed Unit” came together to design a musical masterpiece. Featuring ten current interviews, including co-stars Leslie Caron, Nina Foch, and Kelly’s widow. A very enlightening piece; Caron’s memories are probably the most inspiring, with Foch running a end 2nd. Caron’s comments about co-star Georges Guétary being dazzling but not too sparkling seem to be echoed by Kelly’s widow, who says Gene spent more time trying to philosophize him how to gracefully dart down a spot of steps than on anything else in the film. It is sorrowful that Maurice Chevalier could not have taken that role as originally intended. You also realize unbiased how revolutionary this movie was (artistically), especially because of the 17-minute ballet tacked on at the slay of the movie. Even Irving Berlin disapproved during an on-set visit, which didn’t benefit the confidence of Vincente Minnelli at all.

Outtakes:

Georges Guetary performing Worship Walked In (not missed in the movie at all!)

Audio Outtakes: Alternate Main Title, But Not for Me (Guetary), But Not for Me (Levant Piano Solo), Gershwin Prelude #3, I’ve Got a Crush on You, Nice Work if You Can Derive It, ‘S Wonderful

Radio Interviews: Johnny Green, Gene Kelly, Gene Kelly & Leslie Caron;

Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron promotional radio interview with Dick Simmons

Not all of the novel musical recording stems have survived over the years, preventing a legal stereo/5.1 restoration of the soundtrack; instead, a restored mono version is being made available.

Most are familiar with the movie; storywise, it is a petite creaky and hasn’t necessarily survived well over the years: Kelly is an American artist living in Paris. He falls in worship with a young girl (Leslie Caron) who is in a loveless relationship with one of his best friends (Guétary) . Kelly is also in somewhat of a loveless relationship with his financial sponsor (Nina Foch) . You can probably guess the rest.

The elegant color, astounding music by Gershwin (arrangements by the talented Conrad Salinger), and the fantastic choreography of Gene Kelly will sustain this one a classic for years to reach despite a predictable station. Impartial the ending ballet alone is a masterpiece; the art of Toulouse Lautrec and Utrillo comes to life with Gene Kelly & Leslie Caron dancing their hearts out to some of the most imaginative choreography (Kelly’s) in years. The Freed Unit at MGM was at their peak when this movie was made, and this is one of the last tall ones that it created.

It is a proper shame that with how fabulous the characterize is (the colors literally leap off the conceal, and it really adds to the appreciation of what an artistically resplendent visual feast this movie is) that the sound cannot match. Although it is determined and free of problems, the Gershwin music objective begs for a 5.1 or 7.1 surround track; unfortunately, due to the age and availability of the fresh elements, this is not possible.

A dazzling movie that showcases Gene Kelly’s breathtaking talent. Forget the comic myth and objective eye him dance and dance and dance. He does more with a turn of a shoulder than most dancers can do with their whole body. This movie also introduced the lithe and attractive Leslie Caron as the object of Kelly’s affection. The film builds to its dramatic hallucinatory conclusion as Kelly dances his design across a Paris dreamscape, that brings all the elements of current dance together in a tour-de-force that was unprecedented in musicals of that time. You can’t aid getting swept away in the feel-good spirit of this movie. It was another time and area.
TOBI Wrinkle Remover
Best Energy Pill

In Ghosts of the Abyss, James Cameron returns to the watery grave of the Mountainous in an worry to let the ill-fated ship divulge the memoir of her beget demise. Equipped with set age technology and twin cramped exploratory robots designed specifically for exploring the Astronomical, Cameron and his team manage to pick us into rooms unseen by human perceive since April 1912. Not only do you fetch the theatrical version of this documentary film (albeit without the 3-D experience offered by IMAX), you also collect an extended version featuring an extra half hour of material. Most people would unprejudiced behold the extended version, but I wanted to procure a feel for the disagreement the extra footage makes, so I watched both versions attend to support. I was actually rather amazed to peep that the extended version is ten times better than the current - basically, all of the best material was left out of the theatrical release.

I have to admit I found Bill Paxton, the de facto narrator of the film, rather annoying at times. As he freely admits, he isn’t really generous for this type of deep-sea mission, and his giddiness and nervous humor tend to grow old-fashioned delicate snappily. Like most people, I fair wanted to gaze footage of the wreckage, not a chronicling of Paxton’s fear over traveling to the ocean floor. I did delight in the glimpses provided of the other crew members on the expedition, however - they are an involving assortment of scientists, filmmakers, historians, and Russian seamen.

Ghosts of the Abyss does succeed in showing Broad in all of her mysterious glory, and the underwater footage makes this film well worth watching. The footage obtained from the two submersible vessels floating around and above the ship is breathtaking, but the moral magic happens when two specially-designed robots, Jake and Elroy, are guided (remotely) down into the ship herself. The bots recede in and out of individual rooms, giving us glimpses of Colonel Smith’s bathtub, ornate windows (unruffled intact) from the main dining room, personal effects of passengers peaceful lying where their owners left them, etc. This allows the filmmakers to further personalize the visual experience. For the first time, we are able to fade down into the bowels of the ship herself and spy, for example, the position where the firemen lived, worked, and died. The best footage of all can be found only in the extended version - only here, for example, can you disappear down into the steerage fragment of the ship for the very first time. I was very surprised to examine that this primary and unprecedented footage was lop out of the theatrical release. If you’re like me, you are also are intelligent about the animals you know must be calling the Vast home, but only in the extended version will you acquire any footage of these mysterious, ocean-bottom dwellers.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Ghosts of the Abyss! Click Here

Cameron makes extensive spend of CGI in order to prove the audience what we are actually looking at. You’ll be watching the video footage of a sure residence, and then the filmmakers will overlay pictures showing how the room would have looked wait on in 1912, and many times transparent, ghostly images are also overlaid over the footage. The scheme is to really bring the past alive. It works to some degree, but some may recognize it as overdramatization. Of course, the bots engage the exhibit. Jake and Elwood are keen small gizmos that become our eyes and explain us the wreckage of the Huge as we have never seen it before. One of them adds additional drama to the tale by malfunctioning; the rescue mission is really the most inspiring aspect of the entire film.

A second disc contains some 50 minutes of interviews and additional footage, most of which is quite fascinating. I was very jubilant to gawk a feature on the “cowboys” who go out to hook the resurfaced submersibles to the surface vessel; seeing these guys work in turbulent seas is unprejudiced unbelievable. You also procure to see a few minutes of one dive’s footage from your choice of six different camera angles - you can switch succor and forth between views from the submersibles, Jake and Elwood, and the submersible cabin views. All in all, this is a substantial DVD package, but it is not perfect. I assume all of us would like to have seen more of the accurate footage and a safe deal less of Bill Paxton, but there is no denying the fact that Ghosts of the Abyss offers viewers the most eye-opening tour available of the proud wreckage of the Huge.

Walt Disney Pictures in association with Walden Media have announced the Station 1 DVD release of Ghosts of the Abyss for 27th April 2004 with a retail heed of $29.99. This cinematic experience premiered on the expansive cloak Theatrical IMAX format and is the quest by director James Cameron to go befriend to the resting ground of the exact Substantial equipped with site of the art technology with a team of top underwater explorers and filmmakers. Actor Bill Paxton also accompanies Cameron on this amazing underwater voyage.

On 2-disc DVD Ghosts of the Abyss includes both the 60 puny Theatrical version of the film and a 90 diminutive extended version showcasing unseen footage, especially made for this home entertainment release. The second disc is entirely devoted to bonus materials.

I was first introduced to this film by my friend seven years ago, and I have ever since fallen in fancy with Japanese anime. Seven years later, having enjoyed such obliging films as Grave of Fireflies, Bright Away, Akira and Macross Plus etc., this film, Rurouni Kenshin Tsuiokuhen(as it is known in Japanese), unruffled holds a special space in my heart and will never be replaced by anything.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Samurai X - Complete! Click Here

What makes this film a classic is the degree of perfection the makers were aiming at from every angle. Inquire Of it from a superficial perspective, the drawing for instance, is lush, sensual and very realistic. When falling leaves topple in water you can study the ripples; when blood drops on snow it really sinks into it. Everything is shaped and executed with utmost poetry and beauty, and this is apt even for the bloody scenes in the movie. In a fighting scene in which Kenshin kills the girl’s fiance, the camerawork strikes me as breathtaking and highly effective, it really gives the action urge and momentum and makes it sparkle with fire.

More importantly, the myth and characters are what compose this film memorable. I have to congratulate the makers of this film because they had an genuine script to inaugurate with, into which they weaved elements of tragedy and oriental fatalism, making it into an anecdote and legendary account of savor and sacrifice. First off, the anecdote starts with a gory scene of massacre, the sky has a color of blood, and the music is sad and spine-tingling, setting up a tragic tone for the entire film. In this setting we meet the runt boy Shinta(later to become Kenshin) for the first time, he is the only presence in that scene that resembles innocence in this world, but soon later his innocence will be forever lost as he witnesses the killing of the three sisters.(This scene is carried out with ruthless realism and precision, for some people it can be unbearable.) Kenshin’s life is tragic and ill-fated accurate from the beginning. As we withhold on watching, we grow attached to the characters, we feel for them, for their sacrifice and suffering, and the rare moments of joy and peace they have.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Samurai X - Complete! Click Here

The contradiction in Kenshin’s life is that, he believes that through killing he can wait on bring a unique world to the people, but each time he kills he feels sizable guilt and unrest. To fetch solace and clarify for his actions, he keeps reminding himself that he is serving for a cause that will eventually bring salvation to the people from war, famine, and inferior government. But slowly he begins to realize the fact that the people he’s trying to eliminate are unbiased oridinary human beings; by killing them he is actually destroying families and making others suffer, and that in turn makes himself suffer in guilt. All this makes him nothing more than a killing machine, a tool! The more deeply he realizes about this truth, the more tormented he feels inside his heart. So at this point, a fresh character is introduced, the girl named Tomoe who is a ravishing figure shrouded by an aura of mystery and feminine beauty, a person who is slump to change Kenshin’s life forever….

I loved the method history and fiction are intertweaved in this film to develop a account that is simultaneously legendary and credible. It has been remarked that the character of Kenshin is loosely based on a valid person, and the political figures featured in the anime have all existed in history. After thoroughly enjoying this film, I actually exercise some time looking into the history of 19th century Japan, specially on circumstances surrounding the Meiji Restoration and various key figures in that revolution. And this research has led me to greater appreciation of the film. More often than not, you don’t regain such succesful combinations of history and fiction in films alot; another apt example that immediately comes to mind is the award-winning film of 1984, Amadeus, which retells the life of Mozart in a humorous and sensational contrivance.

Finally, I’d also like to comment on the music in this film. The music is improbable from beginning to ruin! Not only in the sense that it effectively supports and amplifies the drama, but the music alone forms an emotional glide. It is soulful and introspective, at times sunless but weepingly fine. If you listen to the soundtracks in corpulent cycle, scenes in the film near support to your mind in intelligent details. I remember when I watched this film for the first time, I was left spellbound and speechless as the ending theme sounds its first notes. In the demolish the music takes you all the plot serve to where the chronicle started, at which point you hear petite Shinta talking to his master, and you are overwhelmed by a flood of emotions as this unpleasant but hauntingly delicate myth is brought to conclusion in a cyclic build.

In my notion everything about this film is masterful and recommendable. This is a very serious work of art that has raised the artistic quality of anime films in general to an admirable degree. Heart-felt gratitude to all eager in the making of this film!

All fans of “Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X” will surely cherish this complete box OVA/OAV location. It is very suspenseful and holds your attention till the ending of this tragic-yet-happy account.

When buying this box plot, you are getting your money’s worth. Usually, this box status runs anywhere from 90-100 USD in some stores, but on Amazon, it practically cuts it in half.

This product does not appear to be a bootleg and is very lawful on the subtitles.

There is also another OVA/OAV box region that has a dark box and is a limited more expensive. Personally, I favor this one. In the other box space, you do not salvage the following:

Reflection: Director’s Cut

Trust & Betrayal: Director’s Cut

(Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X) The Motion Picture*

Reflection

Trust & Betrayal

*The Motion Report is sometimes listed as Japanese only when searching for the “Language” on some sites, such as this, but with this DVD box state, it DOES arrive in English and also in Japanese, with English subtitles.

(All DVDs = English/Japanese with English subtitles)

That is what you catch in this box spot, besides the extraordinary box art and the magnificent DVD cloak art.

[Risk]

The risk of purchasing this box site, or any box status for that matter, is distress to the box itself, not necessarily the DVDs, but hey, sometimes it happens.

Note: On the side of the box, you may glimpse a petite logo that says: Rurouni Kenshin or Samurai X. They are both the same.

Little kids should not be watching this. The suggested rating in my eyes would be at least an audience that is old-fashioned enough to handle the dialog and the petite suggestive themes that are featured. Roughly: 16+

Also: The title is a small misleading, considering it only says ‘Samurai X - Complete’, but this is NOT the Anime, it is the OVA/OAV collection.
Final Smoke
Energy Supplement

I unprejudiced received this steady DVD from Amazon. Although the package art now carries a 2007 date, the disc inside is the same as the 2001 release. It is NOT anamorphically enhanced. In fact, the files on the DVD are dated 2001, so it literally is the steady DVD release in 2001 - the menu is the same as well. The only disagreement is this comes in a retain case rather than a snapper case. Such a shame that WB won’t do better by this overlooked masterpiece.

I am an unabashed Kubrick fan. I was initiated into his work with “A Clockwork Orange” when I was 16 and went from there. Why is it that “Barry Lyndon” has in my mind surpassed other more revered works. You can cite the heavenly technical attributes of the film(cinematography, art direction, costume produce, music), however, a technically proficient movie is not necessarily a enchanting experience. I would have to say that what elevates this movie is the screenplay and the acting. Kubrick does a broad job attractive the legend from Redmond Barry’s youth to his downfall among the English aristocracy. Kubrick has also gathered a stout cast of actors here in supporting roles(Parick Magee, Leonard Rossiter, Marie Kean, Godfrey Quigley, Steven Berkof, etc.) . What cannot be overlooked is the performance of Ryan O’Neal. If some derive him wooden or off-putting should reflect that he is essentially playing an unsympathetic rogue. It is a audacious performance and O’Neal is utterly convincing whether playing a headstrong teenager or a frosty manipulator. One gripe about the DVDs in the Kubrick Collection: with the exception of “The Luminous”, the only extras on these discs are trailers.
Tri Slim
Get a Good Night Sleep

As a child, I can easily remember my prized possession was a Walt Disney book that my father purchased for me and it featured the chronology of the early classic Walt Disney engrossing shorts. Some of these shorts were shown on the Disney Channel when I was younger but suffice to say, with all the unusual animation, a lot of these classics have probably been forgotten or have been released on VHS video.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Disney Animation Collection 7: Mickey’s Christmas Carol! Click Here

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment are now releasing a few of these shorts on DVD for the first time (some have appeared on past Disney DVD releases) . Now the seventh volume of the Walt Disney Animation Collection will be released and the theme for this volume is Christmas.

In past volumes, we saw many of the Laughable Symphony shorts from the 1929-1939 featured in each volume but this time around, we have a volume featuring animation shorts released in the 80’s. Also, the following shorts are grand longer with most shorts in the past being around under 10 minutes, in this volume, the first two “Mickey’s Christmas Carol” and “The Puny One” are over 20 minutes long.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Disney Animation Collection 7: Mickey’s Christmas Carol! Click Here

The seventh volume “Mickey’s Christmas Carol” includes four shorts. Included are:

   1. Mickey’s Christmas Carol - (25:47) This well-liked Disney piquant cartoon is from 1983 and has been featured on several DVD’s in the past. In an lively retelling of the Charles Dickens masterpiece, Scrooge McDuck plays Ebenezer Scrooge who is tight with money and puts money above everything. Even on Christmas Eve, his awful employee Bob Cratchit (Mickey Mouse) is docked pay for Christmas vacation. But its when the Ghosts of Christmas past pay a visit to Ebenezer and expose him that he should have compassion for people.

2. The Little One - (25:33) A favorite Disney racy cartoon from 1978. A chronicle about a boy who lives outside of Nazareth and because “The Minute One”, a donkey is getting too broken-down, the boy’s father tells him they must sell him. The boy who absolutely loves the Exiguous One is crushed but tells his father that he will be responsible in selling Puny One and finding him a fresh home. So, the boy and his donkey go to Nazareth.

3. Pluto’s Christmas Tree - (6:53) A 1952 Technicolor absorbing short. Mickey cuts down a Christmas tree which is inhabited by two chipmunks: Chip and Dale and with Mickey and Pluto decorating the tree, Pluto is horrified in finding out that the tree has two inhabitants living there.

4. Santa’s Workshop - (6:18) a Funny Symphony animation from 1932 featuring Santa and his elves preparing for Christmas day.

VIDEO & AUDIO:

“Walt Disney Animation Collection” is featured with an aspect ratio of 1:33:1. These classics are available on DVD for the first time but its indispensable to mention that these titillating shorts have not been digitally remastered or cleaned up.

As a matter of fact, you will examine a lot of the dust and scratches of the film and some of the animation gawk beautiful for being nearly 70 years venerable but others scrutinize grainy and a bit weak. Granted, these are not classic fleshy featured films but I hope one of these days, many of these classics do win cleaned up or even digitally remastered.

As for the audio, audio is featured in Dolby Digital Surround Sound. I found that on my home theater system, the best selection on my receiver to thought these tantalizing shorts was to switch it to mono or (if you have this capability) remove stereo for all channels.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

There are no special features included on this DVD. But this volume does advance with a litho print from “Mickey’s Christmas Carol”.

JUDGMENT CALL:

As mentioned earlier in my review, my prized possession as a child was a Walt Disney booklet that covered the Walt Disney piquant shorts in chronological order and had the opportunity to search for these classics. Having these classic engrossing shorts from the past is big but also to have animation that I watched as a child during the Holidays, included on this DVD is awesome. But most importantly, now that I can fraction these classics with my son. These four challenging shorts (and all previous volumes) are gargantuan for the families and in this volume’s case, definitely worth sharing with the family during the holidays.

Of the released “Walt Disney Animation Collection” volumes, this volume is different in the fact that the past volumes featured shorts that had no dialogue (a few did but many didn’t) . Mainly music and sound effects but with this volume, “Mickey’s Christmas Carol” and “The Diminutive One” are two extraordinary titillating Disney cartoons that have a touching storyline, gorgeous animation and although more new than the Funny Symphony shorts featured on previous volumes, they are definitely Disney classics!

For those who owned the 2005 DVD release of “Walt Disney’s Classic Cartoon Favorites, Vol. 09 - Classic Holiday Stories (1952-1983) “, may not need this volume as all animation from this DVD are included on the 2005 DVD release with the exception of “Santa’s Workshop”. Unless you are diehard fan, then to have that DVD with the Comic Symphony short may be worth it to you.

I know that there are some who wish these classics were digitally restored or remastered but I doubt that Disney will do that for a lot of their curious shorts for now (although they are really doing a unbelievable job on the Disney feature films such as “Sleeping Beauty”, “Pinocchio” and “Snow White” for the Blu-ray release) .

But overall, these collections are offered for a shameful effect and if you are a Disney fan, it’s a no-brainer that this volume is definitely worth it. “Walt Disney Animation Collection Vol. 7: Classic Short Films - Mickey’s Chritmas Carol” is definitely recommended!

The dvd’s we ordered were all in tremendous shape and were unopened as promised. Even better they were delivered earlier than expected. I applaud this company for its spacious works. There is nothing I come by better than getting a edifying product fleet and efficiently.

This is a improbable low-budget, unlit and white film starring a mountainous cast of actors: Sidney Poitier, Shelley Winters, Wallace Ford, and then newcomer, Elizabeth Hartman. It was filmed in 1965, at the height of the civil rights movement, and was then critical for its budding inter-racial romance. While this aspect may seem rather tame today, at the time the movie was filmed, this was composed a somewhat controversial theme in many parts of America.

Elizabeth Hartman, in an exquisitely poignant performance for which she was nominated for an Academy Award, plays the piece of Selina D’Arcy, an eighteen year archaic blind girl who lives an isolated and impoverished, almost Dickensian, existence. She lives with her abusive mother, Rose-Ann (Shelley Winters), who moonlights as a prostitute, and her drunken, though somewhat well-meaning, grandfather, whom she calls Ole Pa (Wallace Ford) . Uneducated, having never gone to school, Selina spends her time stringing beads to glean some money for the family, cleaning up after her mother and grandfather, and being at the receiving slay of constant physical abuse and verbal invectives heaped upon her by her mother. Hers is, indeed, a draconian existence.

One day, she prevails upon her grandfather to plunge her off in the park, where she proceeds to sit under a tree, stringing her beads. There, she meets a edifying, well-educated business man, Gordon Ralphe (Sidney Poitier), who takes an interest in her and her fleet appreciation for any kindness done to her. She responds to Gordon’s kindness as if she were a flower turning its face to the sun for continued warmth. He, in turn, is touched by her enthusiastic interest in even the most mundane of matters. They continue to meet under that tree as often as possible, and a relationship develops.

Buy,Download, Or Stream A Patch of Blue! Click Here

Under Gordon’s tutelage, Selina begins to blossom. Some of her disclosures to him about her life believe him with dismay and a determination to do something constructive about it. While he goes about trying to improve her quality of life, their relationship deepens, despite the warnings of Gordon’s brother. After all, Selina is white, uneducated, and comes from a trashy, dysfunctional family, while Gordon is dim, well-educated, and from a profitable family.

Selina, positive that what she feels is treasure, is less restrained than Gordon about her feelings, though their budding romance culminates in nothing more than a chaste kiss. When Rose-Ann finds out whom Selina has been meeting, however, matters approach to a head, and Gordon comes to the rescue. A current day knight in bright armor, however, Gordon does the selfless thing in the demolish.

This is a astounding movie in which the two main protagonists, Gordon and Selina, mediate each other by the mutter of their respective character and not by the color of their skin. Though controversial at the time, this film may seem a exiguous dated by today’s standards. Yet, some of its themes are as modern today as when it was filmed. The view of selflessness and putting the needs of another before one’s have remains timeless. This is a notion, however, rarely seen in today’s films.

Buy,Download, Or Stream A Patch of Blue! Click Here

Although this was Ms. Hartman’s debut film, she deservedly received an Academy Award nomination for her sensitive portrayal of Selina. Unfortunately, her career never really took off after this film the design one would have expected after a performance of this caliber. She appeared only in a few indispensable films, such as, “The Group”, “You’re a Mountainous Boy Now”, and “Beguiled”, before descending into virtual obscurity. I was saddened to hear that she committed suicide in the behind nineteen eighties at the age of forty-five, a tragic figure in the raze, leaving late this resplendent performance for posterity.

The key to the success of this film is its simplicity, including that it’s in dismal and white. There is nothing to distract you from being enfolded in its beauty, and so your emotional involvement in characters, setting and area is complete. It is a perfect period portion belonging to 1965, but its appeal is timeless. It’s personal appealto me was as strong as if I were dreaming, and had the role of the blind girl! I dangled in emotional suspense until the very last scene, which shouldn’t be revealed to those who haven’t seen it! As an allegory of the civil rights movement, it spins the memoir of rotten injustice that could’ve continued were it not for one individual intervening for apt (as in a slight number of gallant people’s protests bringing an destroy to the darkness of Jim Crow injustice) . This is also a astonishing modern-day Cinderella chronicle, complete with a prince (Poitier) who breaks the spell of the nefarious mother (Winters) . However the film is viewed the quality shines! The most valuable point in this film is the juxtaposition of characters, in which Poitier’s character represents the deliver of reason and responsibility, a ground-breaking role for a murky man in 1965.
Best Energy Pill
Wysong Dog Food
