Don’t listen to the zealots, this is a broad movie. Many people bear that this movie “bashes” Christianity, Catholicism in particular. Now, like Kevin Smith, I am a Catholic, and I was in no arrangement offended by this movie, in fact I saw it five times in the theater. This is a movie that shows the idiosyncracies in church dogma, unbiased as every structure has idiosyncracies. The movie shows these points through an inviting and spirited chronicle of pleasurable v. irascible. The overall theme of this movie is that people should be more originate to recent ideas and to realize what Christ was all about, cherish and plan. “Jesus wasn’t sent to earth to give us the ‘willies,’ he is a booster.” Finally, this is a grand movie, with large ideas and grand dialogue. I possess that it is Kevin Smith’s best work to date. Matt Damon, Jason Lee, Linda Fiorentino, George Carlin, Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Alan Rickman, and Chris Rock all give very edifying performances, but Ben Affleck does a unbelievable job as Bartleby. I would certainly suggest this movie to anyone. Faith is a humorous thing.

Contrary to some of the negative reviews (who really cares ifan A-list movie looks “subpar”–if it’s watchable andenjoyable, then what does it matter), this movie has more than simple comedy and large performances. Smith’s “Dogma” asks so many theological quetions that when I left the theatre, I could not end talking about some of the ideas he proposed–however controversial they might have seemed. Smith’s writing, I judge, has reached an all time high with this film, following his respectable “Chasing Amy” and hilarious “Mallrats” (sorry to all you “Clerks” fans, but watching that film is so exceedingly painful and lifeless I can’t relate it) . In “Dogma,” Smith rips apart religion and its factions–with a few extra stabs at his possess Catholicism–yet at the same time upholds religion as a whole. And his knowledge of the Bible is clearly apparent, for some of his scenes (namely the scene between Fiorentino and Affleck (…) ) drip with emotion and truth that Smith’s motives are clear: in writing “Dogma” Smith attempted to intertwine lost faith, religious humor, and redemption. And what a pretty concern it is! Even if the visuals are not improbable, the script, cast, and the discussions you will have long after the movie has ended are. Rent or take this movie–it doesn’t matter which–just inspect it. “Dogma” is truly wonderful; one of the best of 1999. Waste

Let me initiate this review by saying one thing, The Day After Tomorrow is an fine movie. I loved it. The special effects were outstanding. It’s profitable fun for a date movie.

But,….trying to acquire this movie seriously is actually hard. The narrative revolving around global warming and the world being hit hard within a week is a bit too hard to swallow. Too, there’s fair some things in the movie that I impartial don’t search for happening quite the same contrivance if they were to happen in precise life. I’m not saying that we shouldn’t grasp the threat of global warming seriously but the intention it is presented in this movie is ridiculous. If the writer of the film took more time to research the material on global warming, I consider he(and Roland Emmerich) could have made an even better film. As distinguished as I like wretchedness flicks(having smooth the majority of them that has arrive out in current memory), I really don’t know if I could recommend this one for people to consume.

Thanks to director J.J. Abrams, “Mission: Impossible III” surpasses the missed opportunities of filmmakers Brian De Palma and John Woo by returning to the core elements of the classic TV series. In the memorable villain department, Philip Seymour Hoffman kicks it up a notch and gives IMF agent Tom Sail a race for his money. The scurry rarely lags as Abrams stages several stunt-filled setpieces while surrounding Sail with a solid acting ensemble. Unfortunately, the film’s perfunctory climax squanders a potentially spirited showdown between Flee and Hoffman - an sure label of budgetary shortcuts. Despite this lapse, the third time is definitely the charm for the “Mission: Impossible” franchise.

This movie did not live up to the hype. I idea Kerri Russel would have a bigger role. MI:1 and MI:2 were mighty better.

Nooma is a series of 10 (at the moment? Hopefully more in the future) short DVDs that deal with living a Christian life and having a Christian perspective towards life. I’ve seen 5 of the 10 and every one of them has been fine, but I reflect “Luggage” is the best. It’s a 13 itsy-bitsy video, shot in an airport, of a guy talking about people and their luggage. Sounds animated, doesn’t it! But there are spiritual implications, of course. This guy (Assume Bell) has an uncanny knack for boiling spiritual principles down to their valuable elements and then explaining them in a very down-to-earth intention. He doesn’t preach–it’s like he’s talking to you, not at you, and that makes the message difficult to resist. I would heartily endorse the whole series–and “Luggage” in particular, if you have pain forgiving others–to any Christian who wants to understand better how to live a life that pleases God. And if you aren’t a Christian but are provocative about Christianity and God I can’t assume of many better places to originate than good here. Tc

I don’t care what any of you judge. “House” is extraordinary! It was a comical and fantastic horror/comedy. It wasn’t intended to be deep, or appealing, or vivid in the ways you philosophize of. And I am not a: a college student of b: desperate for entertainment and I really enjoyed it. But I can seek where you’re coming from when I hold in the fact that you need a sense of humor to luxuriate in this movie. I concept it was fantastically humorous and savory. The acting was not unpleasant. This movie wasn’t written by Shakespeare or directed by Stephen Spielberg or Stanley Kubrick after all. But the director of “House” did a pleasing job. If you do not devour movies that are meant purely for fun, you should not inspect this. And if you are expecting Academy Award pleasant performances from a low-budget eighties dread flick, (though William Katt was astounding) don’t discover this. But, if you bask in sizable terror movies with some exclusive and low-budget effects and a darling leading man, seek “House”. It is a vast example of fine work from its genre.

As for the small 20,000 copies edition, it does believe commentaries and a few bright editions. However, it’s these amazingly original horror-camp classics that you should be buying them for. Heavily recommended for anyone who adores any movie with hilarious undead in it.

My mother got this for my 3 year weak daughter and she absolutely loves it. Basically, Barney goes through his scrapbook reminscising about some of fun times he’s had. Then they demonstrate older episodes of the prove (my guess from the mid to leisurely 90’s) . If your kids like Barney, they will probably savor this DVD.

One proviso: I gave it 5 stars because my daughter enjoys it, not because *I* bask in it. This is definitely not stuff for adults (well, not for the non-drooling segment of the adult population anyway.) If you’re over 7 years old-fashioned this will definitely fry the rest of your functioning brain cells if you peep it too worthy.

As for bonus features, there are none, except for some trailers for upcoming children’s DVDs like The Wiggles and Kipper. It’s kind of nice that they are in the bonus part so you don’t have to perceive them if you don’t want to.

All in all, I recommend this for kids who are Barney fans.

This particular DVD is broad for my 15 month frail. If your child honest likes to dance, relate or listen to music this is the one for you. The special features offer a allotment called “Jukebox” where only the songs (along with the video)

will play. Since those children younger than two may have a difficult time following storylines or conceptualizing, parents can skip the staunch video that combines Barney reminiscing with BJ and Baby Bop about the past with music and singing and go straight to music/singing without a delay between songs. However, if you have a child who enjoys storylines, you can have that as well! This video is tall for kids 6 mos- to 7 years traditional!

When you gape this, you may learn where some of the inspirations for ARMAGEDDON and DEEP IMPACT came from. Sean Connery gives a strong performance as a scientist trying to convince the military and government that a giant meteor five miles wide(apparently a rock from the producer’s succor garden was broken-down and it shows!) is heading for Earth, preceeded by deadly fragments. After the talk comes some action and effects which were splendid for the time, and sometimes unruffled witness gigantic even now. An avalanche in Switzerland, a tidal wave flooding Hong Kong, and as a preview of ARMAGEDDON, a spacious allotment demolishes Unusual York(although you can explain it’s stock film in parts, even though it’s kept to a minimum) . And the set scenes towards the ruin of the movie are grand! The characters are great more well-created and acted than in many films of this genre from the 1970s, particularly Connery(he makes anything worth watching when he’s in it, with the determined exceptions of ZARDOZ and HIGHLANDER 2: THE QUICKENING), Henry Fonda(as the President), Brian Keith not speaking a word of English except when he mocks the Brooklyn Dodgers(!), Natalie Wood as his interpreter and MISSION IMPOSSIBLE’s Martin Landau as a caricature hot-headed Air Force general! Altogether, if you enjoyed DEEP IMPACT and ARMAGEDDON, don’t miss METEOR. You’ll be fair as entertained!

Hey Chris Gore you distinct must be leadin’ a delicate sheltered life if this here is the strangest and most compelling thing you ever seen. But I’ll agree it obvious is fine compelling and impartial a slight curious. All these guys do is obtain titanic ole catfish with their bare hands. It’s a tradition and they call it “noodling”. It looks like a lotta fun. I’m a documentary fan and worship learning about people and culture. In this film viewers are returned to Berlin (albeit in the post-Cold War era), to study how Cassiel struggles with the barrier that exists between men and angels (for those of you who have not seen “Wings of Desire” - Cassiel is an angel) . As with the first film, the angels in this movie peruse over humans as if they are there have charges. Casssiel’s problems eminate from his desire to originate contact with these people, grand the same blueprint that Damiel did in “Wings of Desire”.

Cassiel achieves his wish when he is forced to a create a split-second decision to put a young girl’s life. By interceding he becomes a fragment of the world he had only been able to idea from afar. The rest of the movie thus focuses on how Cassiel deals with the pressures and stresses of being “human”. I don’t want to give away too powerful of the tale so I’ll cessation my description here.

There is an all star cast in this movie, such as; Nastassja Kinski, Willem Dafoe, Peter Falk, and what must have been a right coup - Mikhail Gorbachev! Don’t prejudge this film if you wasted your time on that second rate, Hollywood knock-off “City of Angels” starring Nicholas Cage. This by far a sterling movie. A+++++++

Because of critics’ reaction to Alice in Wonderland in 1951, it is written, Walt Disney actually apologized for the movie and soon after his television present became a hit a few years later, he showed it in its entirety on TV, thus relegating it to his “minor film” category. The movie has never been able to shake this image, and that is a shame. We should remember that “Wizard of Oz” wasn’t a giant box office hit in 1939, and only after it was made an annual event on television did it become a classic in the eyes of the public. “Alice in Wonderland” deserves far more attention than it has ever received. The characters are astounding. The music is humable, even singable. It’s a short film that takes the viewer into a dreamland, and Disney’s spellbinding version stands up against any of the other live versions that have popped up over the years. It’s time to give this movie the credit it deserves as a classic in animation. Inspect it from a child’s point of notion, with the fabulous images of a cat that disappears, talking cards, and Alice constantly growing and disturbed. And then bask in it as an adult for the dream world into which we are all swept. And furthermore, the DVD transfer is astounding, with as many extras as one will accept on a Disney non-special edition disc. Seize another inspect at this one and be swept away.

The tale of the attractive film is similar to that of the first book, but contains parts of the second book. Dozy Alice is so humorous she follows concern by chasing a talking rabbit down hs hole. At the bottom, she drinks an unknown substance which helps her win through a talking door into Wonderland. Here she meets the Dodo, TweedleDum and TweedleDee (who pronounce her the epic of the Walrus and the Carpenter), the Talking flowers (explore out for the snobby Iris!), the Caterpillar and the Cheshire Cat. She even has un-birthday tea with the Inflamed Hatter and the March Hare. However, Alice gets caught up in a game of croquet with the Queen of Hearts, and later a trial. The whole thing becomes such a nightmare, Alice realises she’s had a dream while she dozed off.

Firstly, I don’t know why loads of people contemplate this film is cheesy. I know Alice isn’t for everyone, but when you glance at the other films made based on Children’s classics by Disney (eg- Jungle Book, Hunchback of Notre Dame), you’ll spy it’s more faithful than those films to the novel. However if you have read the books and haven’t seen this film, some characters are missing (eg- Duchess, Mock Turtle, Knave of Hearts, White Knight) . This may impartial judge that Disney has ruined this classic forever. They haven’t. It’s the best adaption I’ve ever seen.

Although I actually have the PAL version, I verbalize the movie is unprejudiced the same over in North America. The best bits are the Walrus and the Carpenter, the garden of singing flowers and flamingo croquet. And the Angry Tea Party is composed the funniest fragment of a Disney classic. So pick this movie. Wether it’s a video tape or DVD.
