There’s no denying it: BCI Eclipse had some amazing intelligent titles that risked becoming forever lost to the archives of time once the company was forced to shut its doors this past year. Fortunately Mill Creek Entertainment, which by the diagram is distributed by BCI’s parent company, Navarre, has acquired the rights to bring many of BCI’s titles to the home market once more. Even more impressive collected is that these sets will be packaged up and sold as complete box sets (rather than individual season releases) .

In case you’re impartial tuning in, no this isn’t the Filmation version of the demonstrate so many of us lift with warm fuzzies from our youth. This is in fact the third (and most novel) provocative iteration of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Produced for Cartoon Network by Mike Young

Productions, this version ran from 2002 until 2004 where it went for two chubby seasons (26 in the first season, 13 in the second) . Along the design it managed to snag a very well deserved Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing (2004) .

While there are few who could argue successfully that anything could replace the modern Filmation series, Mike Young Productions managed to occupy all of the elements that made the fresh so successful and to bring them up to original standards of animation quality, sound work, and script writing. As a result the mythos had been brought to an entirely current generation of fans while simultaneously exquisite fans of the new.

Without giving too powerful away (I dislike spoilers personally), I will say that the origins of Snake Mountain will initiate to unfold in the second-half of the first season in addition to the complete origin of the Dusky Hemisphere which imprisons Skeletor and his minions. Modern characters are plentiful as well and have some slick back-story efforts, which execute even the unique Mattel toys a lot more spruce. Among the notables includes the stories of Two-Bad, Cobra Kahn, Cyclone, Roboto, Moss Man, Zodak, and Stinkor. Many of these characters were never fully fleshed out in the fresh prove (if they appeared at all) and would have remained only in the imaginations of those who played with the toys if not for the spectacular exertion here. We are also treated to a couple of current looks for He-Man himself including an amped up version of he and Skeletor in combat and his ever impressive winter gear which includes a flowing fur cape and a heavy battle ax.

The Snakemen element introduced in the first season develops into sheer brilliance in the second (and unfortunately final) season! Not to insinuate that the Masters didn’t have their hands fat as it was with Skeletor and his minions, this time around the threats to peace and justice approach in from all angles in the produce of the Skeletor and company, the Snake Men, and the Contaminated Horde! Yes, you read that correctly- She-Ra’s arch nemesis, Hordak, who fair so happens to have been Skeletor’s mentor, shows up in Season 2 within Skeletor’s origin yarn that finally ties all of the loose threads of Mattel’s franchise together once and for all.

I often like to wonder what ground Mike Young’s team would have covered had the present continued. Would they have expanded to include He-Man’s sister (She-Ra’s) fable arc? Could have writer Larry DeTillio revisited some of his wise dragon influence? A shame that we’ll probably never know.

All in all, the present simply continued to gain upon the foundation first position by Filmation in the 1980s and thanks to Mill Creek Entertainment, can be yours in its entirety for the cost of each of the single season releases.

to poor this had to raze while it was doing some really superior narrative telling not to mention wonderful art work, tons of action, it almost seems as some sort of mystery as why this fell off the face of the radar abruptly. Why would such a qualified cartoon be pulled off the air? Anyhow this is genuine for kids and adults (assuming they grew up with the unusual) it reminds me of the Vow cats simply with more characters, it would be awesome if the people who did this somehow resurrected the thundercats in the same modern-he-man style. One minor gripe is the fact that prince Adam must be himself before turning into he-man i net this character whiny, wimpy, and unneeded for the point to.

Why fair not have He-Man available at all times? unbiased like the x-men you don’t discover Wolverine having to ‘become somebody’ it was edifying in the first personally i feel it was unnecessary to be in this unusual version though i can understand why they extinct it because it gives the stories more longevity without Adam, the present would be overly short and the memoir element would be monotonous. Anyway he’s a minor irritant to me but i like the demonstrate and the best fraction of the series is the destroy with a definite message that most of if not all other toons these do not have. Only g.i. joe, thundercats, transformers, and He-man to my knowledge have a special message at the waste of the episode i feel this is a agreeable upright for kids, why they do not achieve these in cartoons anymore i do not know. Overall an generous station to add to your collection. If it was not for bawl baby prince adam, it would be 5 star.

Disney did a mammoth job with this DVD! Me and my friends gawk it almost every day. There are fun games and lots of mountainous Pooh cartoons on this DVD! Winnie the Pooh makes learning FUN!!!

This collection of Winnie the pooh episodes are from the 80’s tv note, “The Modern Adventures of Winnie the Pooh” I treasure this dvd because I remember the shows and my two year mature boys fancy it two. They care for pooh and tigger, plus it is not tiresome, so that it keeps their attention. It is a stout dvd and I recommend the whole collection.

After watching a few episodes on Cartoon Network’s hasten of Yu Yu Hakusho, I decided to prefer up the first DVD volume and give it a shot. And for the most allotment, I’m very overjoyed with this seize! And if you are wondering, this disc is uncut, and contains both an English and Japanese audio track. Yu Yu Hakusho (YYH) hasn’t really presented itself as being a ground breaking so far, but what it does offer is some agreeable characters in a variety of fun situations. As with most series, the first few episodes introduce us to the characters and let us bag to know the world they inhabit.

Of course, when the lead character dies in the first episode, you know something’s up! I won’t go into the details of the anecdote, but a synopsis is due. Yusuke is somewhat of an outcast who doesn’t really show a care for anything. The only thing he seems righteous at is beating up on other middle school gangs. But one day, he saves a kid from being hit by a car, only to have himself hit instead! Now, our anti-hero lead is stuck between Heaven and Hell as a ghost since the higher beings don’t know what to construct of him. He is then offered a chance to return attend to life, which is all well and fine, except that Yusuke doesn’t really care to go serve. That is until he realizes how many people truly cared for him. And so the narrative unfolds.

YYH showcases a salubrious mixing of several different genres; everything from fighting, supernatural and even some friendly old-fashion romance. YYH also borrows some aspects heavily from Dragonball Z. I personally do not care mighty for DBZ (though I do thoroughly be pleased the earlier allotment of Dragonball), but I found myself warming up a bit more to this series.

I found myself liking the character designs as they remind me of older series from the 80s. A salubrious rupture from the styles being pushed out these days. The animation is gorgeous, but since this is such a long running series, that can only be expected. The palette of colors venerable is also exquisite minimal and kind of drab. But ultimately I’m in for the point to, and not the scrutinize candy.

As for the localization, I’d say it’s exquisite pleasant. I bask in English dub tracks, so I didn’t have a lot peril adapting to this one. Some of the characters, such as Yusuke, are well portrayed while others advance off as too cartoony sounding (Kuwabara) . I should mark that the sincere recording job of the dub could of been handled a minute more professionally. Some of the dialog gets clipped slightly when things salvage loud, and there were also a few instances of microphone *puff* sounds. FUNimation went the extra mile and dubbed the opening and closing songs, which is always a plus in my book. And awe not, the unusual songs are prove on the Japanese audio side.

The adapted dub script follows the modern Japanese dialog fairly well, with only minimal changes here and there. Thankfully, FUNimation included subtitles for both the English and the Japanese tracks (Most studios skimp out on subtitling the English track) . But unfortunately, they aren’t the best subs out there as they are white instead of the normal yellow. Alas, they are functional and well timed. Missing is a subtitle track devoted to translations of the onscreen Japanese writing, which is a loyal shame.

This disc features decent audio and video; it’s not awful, but nothing to write home about. Depending on your equipment, you may or may not glimpse some of the macroblocking “squishy”. The disc also features some expedient extras. For starters you procure a desirable (textless) opening and ending sequence in both English and Japanese. The profiles do a noble job of fleshing out a few characters without being riddled with spoilers. Although, they are annoyingly tilted at a 30 degree angle, making them difficult to read. Yama’s Notebook is a welcome piece that explains some of the Japanese meanings for names as well as translations for some of the kanji old-fashioned in the reveal. There are a few trailers for Dragonball related material, and one for Blue Gender.

So would I recommend this disc? Probably, but compose clear you know what your getting into first. While the DVDs are cheaper than most anime DVDs, you’re also getting less reveal. The discs will be released with 4 episodes for the first few discs, then most likely tumble down to 3. With a series this long (over 100 episodes in total) that’s going to require quite a commitment on your fraction. Another scrape with the length of the series is that there will no doubt be long drawn out stretches of lulls in the later episodes; something that turned me off with Dragonball Z. These first few episodes were noble, but there’s no telling where it’ll be by episode 50.

But hey, try out the first few volumes and get your absorb idea. What you assume is far more notable than any jaded reviewer

I am pissed. For not vivid about Yu Yu Hakusho until March 27, 2004. I have been missing out for years not shiny about this gigantic anime series. This is my only and first Yu Yu Hakusho DVD that I saw and it was the MOST gripping anime that I had ever seen! This is one of the best or possibly THE BEST anime out there. You might not agree but if you prefer the time a behold at this anime series, you will know what I exactly mean. This anime has a spacious sage line. It’s about a 14 year boy (forgot the name because I only had it for two days) who dies trying to set a kid from a car. Later, he realizes that he had became a ghost and has to do valid in order to near befriend to life. I’m not going to go too powerful into the record. I conception the conception was colossal and the execution was even better. I only saw it four times but I really enjoyed it. At first, it was kind of hard to understand the tale but after the second time, I started to catch the epic. You know, it’s silly how those Japanese people near up with those crazy ideas for catoons and games (Prince of Mononoke, Fascinating Away, Dragonball Z, Inu Yasha, Arc the Lad, Ranma, Street Fighters, Restful Hill, and Clock Tower honest to name a few) but this one is fair totally unbelievable. I didn’t delight in an anime this mush since the first Pokemon days (after the Pokemon Rush, it got wierd) . Well, at least now I know about Yu Yu Hakusho and I’m going to try to regain all the DVD. I definitly recommend it and even though my review wasn’t satisfactory, you should try renting it from a library, Hollywood Videos, or Blockbuster and then say something about my review.

I watched this moral now on HBO. Every parent should peek this documentary. Even if your maintain kids go to a excellent school, you SHOULD design it a point to look this expose.
