I am Bill Cosby’s biggest fan, from his comedy albums in the 60s all the arrangement through his TV sitcoms in the 80s and 90s. The “trilogy” he did with Sidney Poitier (Uptown Saturday Night, Let’s Do It Again, and A Fragment of the Action) are absolutely hilarious! Let’s Do It Again is the funniest of the three and from the status to the costumes to the dialogue to the singing (Bill’s “Ode to the Champ” is my approved!) you will be in stitches. This movie was thoroughly absorbing, and it leaves you longing for a return to a time when sex, evil violence and profanity did NOT rule the film industry. You have GOT to discover this movie!

I have long been a fan of the Shadow Star series. I have all of the manga and have been reading it since I was eight years musty. When the DVD box plot of the anime was released this past summer, I was gay to net it, as I had never seen the anime before. While not nearly as informative and perfectly constructed as the manga it is based off of, it has its enjoy merit and individuality nonetheless.

The first thing you must know about this series is that its “first impressions can be misleading” slogan is no joke. While it starts off as a lighthearted fantasy, from the second episode on all of the characters’ minds and curved motives are exposed in a positively chilling device. The further along the series gets, the more violent, eerie, and gut-wrenching it becomes. Though this is a Japanese prove, in which such scenes are commonplace, the envelope is really pushed to the max in the English version. The dub even includes some previously unseen events that were in the unique manga, all of them hinting at the carnage to approach in the finale. None of this information holds truer than for episodes 11 and 12, which include schoolyard bullies raping a girl with a test tube, and one of the same bullies getting raped and sliced in two by a menacing alien only hours later. While there is almost no nudity or serious depictions of these hideous scenes, the sound effects and shots from the waist up are enough to leave an unimaginably strong impact.

The storyline, while alarming (even to most viewers who are not easily shrinking), is quiet knowing and is what makes this series triumph. I can’t contemplate of anything that shows a more truthful depiction about the hearts and minds of human beings, and how misguided teens would handle their troubles given the power. It is raw yet right, sketching out perceptions of mankind that are horrifying, hideous, but, above all, just. But there’s more to this anime than pure fright as it follows the adventures of young Shiina Tamai and her streak into the war between two cliques of psychic adolescent “dragon” bearers, providing quite a few lighthearted and whimsical moments to cloak and balance the grim.

The hiss acting is top-notch in this series, and though the English dub isn’t nearly as spot-on the novel Japanese cast with voices that are unfitting and annoying, as far as production quality goes it’s a high point. The animation, while in the same well-kept and gangly style as the manga, has a improper framerate and can waste up looking quite awkward. Music is trustworthy, but the biggest disappointment is simply how remarkable was left out. Tons of key region points and scenes from the recent manga were crop, and the entire series is only 13 episodes long–half of the manga’s memoir. The ending was done as well as it could be, but there are unruffled many questions that need answering. So great clutter and next to no tidying up.

But despite these flaws, this DVD box area is worth picking up for anime fans nonetheless, despite a seemingly dubious sign of $50, and providing they have the guts to handle the latter episodes. With such a vast manga, the anime is stagger to be vast too, and it certainly is despite dreadful animation and other gripes fans may have. It is recent, philosophical, and rouses emotions you could never assume of experiencing during a cartoon.

Dont be fooled by the contented microscopic intro that is presented and the first bit of episode 1, this anime is extremely deep for what it looks like and many times creepy and violent. It gives a sense of there being another season coming, but if not they say there is a manga of this as well. In all I was impressed with it and wish to study more of it, cuz it left me on such a crital point it seemed.

Hello, First off I’m a straight guy, male, ect… and will stop that design. I’ll be fair, I’m a in the military serving in the Middle East. I ordered the first season thinking mostly about the possible sex and nude scenes I would collect, as explicit porn is not exactly allowed where I am. I found what I wanted, but what I really didn’t inquire was how into the explain I would win. I really pick up this exhibit to be one of the best written and engrossing shows that I’ve arrive across. I give the indicate 5 stars for its evenly mixed comedy, romance, and drama. I also believe that this reveal shines light for acceptance of the gay/lesbian lifestyle and helps others understand that yes homosexual’s are actually people as well. I have already watched the 2nd and 3rd season and have pre-ordered the 4th. I deem that this explain is awesome and is well worth the money to sight it. I also really enjoyed the beginnings of each episode with a something that happened in the past that directly relates to the episode. Also I fancy the chart and how it shows how everyone is connected. I’m a expansive fan of Jewel and I consider it reflects the “Pieces of You” song extremely well; and how your actions can affect the people around you. Again awesome demonstrate and I would recommend it to anyone from all walks of life.

I have to address Jabber’s comments above. I feel sunless for you. It’s this kind of uneducated stop minded thinking that makes the world a puny bit darker. Your mean engrossing stereotypical comments only attend to try to acquire yourself feel better at the expense of people you don’t even know. Your bigotry will likely add damage to other’s lives as you perpetuate prejudice, discrimination & intolerance. That’s not a legacy to be proud of. In the ruin it’s you that I feel sorry for.

That being said here’s what you really might want to know: This was a spacious season… remarkable more upbeat than the previous season. The characters grow on you. Alice objective gets better with each season (is she a cutie or what?? )!

The LWord is a fun prove!…but if you are looking for stereotypical butch lesbians you might want to retain on looking. This a TV indicate and the people are exquisite & glamorous. (If you check out other TV shows you may be afraid to derive quite a few other magnificent & glamorous cops, housewives, doctors, detectives… and so on. It’s share of our American culture.) BUT… I for one am not offended by resplendent & glamorous lesbians!!

… I’m so overjoyed we picked it up. He’s curved and only wants to glimpse it over and over and over again. It’s cute and it does have a first-rate message since one episode talks about cleaning up and he actually starts putting things away. (not well, but it’s a begin.) I recommend this for all 2 to 4 year olds.

I treasure these videos as mighty as my 3-year outmoded! The muppetry is gigantic! The stories are captivating and (I believe) factual to Dr. Seuss’ intent - whimsical, but with a message. I highly recommend.

The center of “Blood Ties” has always been the like triangle between PI Vicky Nelson, cop Mike Celucci, and vampire Henry Fitzroy.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Blood Ties: Season Two! Click Here

But that savor triangle starts constricting painfully in the second season of “Blood Ties,” which finishes the all-too-short horror/mystery series. The plots are solid whodunnits and thrillers that center around queer supernatural beasties and items, and the trio of lead actors are righteous (particularly the striking Kyle Schmid) . The one predicament is the ending — it’s a ample stout “to be continued” that leaves you craving a wrap-up TV movie.

When a wealthy man is brutally killed, Mike (Dylan Neal) knows he has the factual suspect, a sneering woman who was at the crime scene. The jam is, the man died from being savaged by a giant cat — and Mike saw her eyes glow when she was upset. So Vicki (Christina Cox) and Henry (Schmid) inaugurate investigating the woman’s home and her family — and narrate an venerable family secret and a tragic loss.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Blood Ties: Season Two! Click Here

Among the other cases they handle: creepy art and men drowned with oil paint, a mysterious box that sticks Vicki in a time loop, a Goth club being threatened by a odd drug and insect attacks, a gang of truckjackers accidentally let loose an Incan mummy, and a murderer who suddenly changes his memoir (claiming psychic visions) . And Henry unexpectedly seeks Mike’s abet when another vampire starts killing in his territory… leading to a reunion with the slinky Christina, his ex-lover/vampire-mother, who’s got a base quandary that is more than it seems.

Unfortunately, all this supernatural stuff is slowly crumbling away Mike’s professional credibility, and the relationship between the three of them is getting increasingly tense. When an musty demonic enemy returns to attack Coreen, Vicki must depend on both men to befriend — but it may not be enough.

“Blood Ties Season Two” is in some ways darker and more desperate than the first season, now that Vicki has gotten totally immersed in the world of the supernatural (and Mike is starting to sink in too) . But the core of the series is worthy the same — it quiet sticks to the monster/artifact-of-the-week formula (”Talismans don’t raze people; people destroy people”), and maintains that distinctly shaded, grimy feel, with lots of pale light, sunless urban streets and a very new vampire.

And the black mysteries are nicely speckled with gritty action sequences, monsters both typical (werethingies!) and current (bug demons!), and some painfully bittersweet moments, such as the tragic fate of an out-of-control, self-loathing vampire. But the writers support things tongue-in-cheek, and have some wonderfully quirky dialogue (”Don’t you have a lucky shirt or socks? ” “I have a bonnet that Anne Boleyn gave me factual before she tried to poison me. I’m tranquil here, so I guess you could call that lucky”) .

The biggest scrape with “Blood Ties Season Two”? The ending. It’s abundantly positive that there was a third season intended that would dealt with the myriad hanging spot threads — namely the fractured esteem triangle and the whole Astaroth pickle — but it never happened. So the ending is depressing and unsatisfying. Near on, earn us a TV movie!

Kyle Schmid actually steals the limelight in this season — Henry becomes a more passionate, tragic figure as he deals with some of his past demons, while thankfully maintaining his sexy-trickster attitude (after admitting that he likes Celucci, he adds, “I’m gonna regret having to method him being eaten by hellhounds”) . And he pulls off even potentially-cheesy scenes, such as when Henry describes to the half-blind Vicki how colorful and vibrant the world looks to him.

But Christina Cox and Dylan Neal mild gain their gain — Vicki seems more at peace with her modern “night life” and the crimes she has to investigate, but her emotional life is even more snarled than it was before. She’s getting pulled in two directions, and it now hurts. And Mike is slowly coming to terms with Henry’s presence — and evens seems buddyish once or twice. But the stupid destruction of his career and his nice comfortable life is a painful thing to search for.

“Blood Ties Season Two” has an unsatisfactory finale, but it’s serene a solid fantasy/horror/mystery series that is one of the better vampire shows to form it to TV. Definitely give it a peek.

I can safely say I was addicted to this exhibit! Kyle Schmid as vampire Henry Fitzroy is most definitely the hottest vampire ever….whether on the colossal cover or the shrimp. This reveal was droll, it had action, colossal chemistry between its characters and it was never given a chance by LifetimeTV. It ended with such a cliffhanger I figured we’d at least gain a TV movie to tie things up, but we never got a thing. The explain was based on Tanya Huff’s Blood Books, but the point to was far agreeable to the books. In the UK the whole indicate was sold as one site of DVDs. They needed to wring a few more bucks out of us here in the US, but that’s okay. My common “vampire” reveal ever!

Ok, first of all, the movie is done as well as it could have been. It does leaves out some facts that the book felt was necessary to include. But miniscule things must be omitted. They did the best job possible that they could have done to eliminate less distinguished residence lines. The opening scenes could have been allowed more time, and made it feel less rushed, but it worked out well. The acting in this movie is a positive improvement over those last 3 movies. You will applaud Daniel Radcliffe’s performance. Emma Watson is as great of an unbelievable actress as she has always been, and I level-headed deem that she is underused. Her scenes at the Yule Ball were awe-inspiring. The effects, visual and CG, are fantastic. You can feel as if you are there suitable now. Ralph Fiennes plays Voldemort beautifully and sends chills down your spine and makes you loath him from his first second on mask. Miranda Richardson really hit the nail on the head with Rita Skeeter. Her scenes are some of the funniest of the entire movie. The Director of this installment of the highly successful Harry Potter series was Mike Newell. He does an outstanding job. There are some scenes that are so cinematically fabulous. The overall feel of the film is without a fast-paced action thriller. You awe for Harry’s life every second of the film. I was thoroughly impressed with this film, and with the fifth book being my popular, I am praying that the film works wonders.

SCENE 2: A Durmstrangs student asks a girl if she wants to go with him to the Yule Ball. She says “yes” and the two friends acquire gestures in the background.

SCENE 3: Harry tries to issue with Cho Chang, but her friends are around her and the opportunity never works out .

SCENE 4: At the Yule Ball, Flitwick introduces the Irregular Sisters band. The star singer addresses the crowd and then the music begins.

SCENE 5: Karkaroff philosophize to Snape about the sign on his arm. Snape ignores him and removes points to Fawcet and Stebbins, who are briefly shown, and Snape disregards Karkaroff’s concerns then.

SCENE 7: The trio speaks about the death of Mr. Crouch. Ron thinks that the Daily Prophet will screen it up on Fudges orders. SCENE 8: The trio discuss their suspicions about what Karkarov has on his arm. Hermione asks Harry what ingredients Snape reflect he stole from him, and she relises that they are all ingredients in a polyjuice potion.

Games, AND Powerful MORE

P.S. It doesn’t matter that Hermione’s dress is Pink instead of Blue. It does matter that Harry’s eyes are supposed to be green, when they are Blue in the movies!

In this forth instalment in the ever approved Harry Potter series based on the recent by JK Rolwling we contemplate Harry venerable in many ways, he must over approach three deadly tasks, face a fully formed Lord Voldermort and possibly the most horrifying task of all for the 14 year stale Harry, he must win himself a date for the Yule Ball!

The performance of the trio in the Goblet of Fire is wonderful, every scene seemed to be executed perfectly and the on camouflage chemistry between the young stars is evident. Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) reaches unusual heights in this movie perfectly portraying the dismal adolescent Harry has become; he faces the recent emotional roles in the movie with confidence and enthusiasm, like wise for Radcliffe’s young co-stars Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) Once again we contemplate terrific performances from the likes of Dame Maggie Smith (Professor McGonagall), Alan Rickman (Professor Snape) and Robbie Coltraine (Hagrid) as well as meeting some unique faces amongst the students, including students from two other magical academies who join the students at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry to participate in the Tri-Wizard Tournament! Another highlight of this marvellous movie is Ralph Fiennes’ portrayal of Lord Voldermort which can be rather alarming even to an adult!

I maintain this movie to be of an gracious standard not only due to the charismatic trio, but also thanks to the special effects of this movie. We inspect many enchanting creatures including a ferocious fire breathing dragon (which Harry must fight armed with nothing but his wand!) and while watching you can truly forget that these creatures were created using blue mask and you can honestly absorb that you are in this world, that it truly exists impartial gradual closed doors. This is very good to the novels making this a movie every Potter fan can devour and indeed fans of spectacular plots and mind-blowing special effects alike can be pleased this, making the Goblet of Fire a movie for all the family! Overall I would call this movie riveting and n absolute gem of the movie world. You do not want to miss this shiny allotment of film history, no DVD collection would be complete with out it! Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire astounding 5 stars!

Look for Season 4 and 5 to near out within the next year!!

Turn on your TV. Examine the same formulaic comedies day after day on the networks. Discover your intelligence quotient open its downward spiral. Paralyzed? Ok, now turn on Scrubs. Every so often a expose comes along that breaks the network formula, and brings a richness to a genre that is sorely lacking in originality. Scrubs is that indicate, and has been for several years running.

Scrubs curved me with the very first episode I ever saw. At first I was skeptical. Five minutes in, it hit me. This note was actually brilliant; Colorful, quirky, and sometimes wacky humor coupled with trusty drama and tearful emotion and writing that continues to amaze week after week. At that moment, Scrubs inherited the void left by Seinfeld’s departure as TVs best comedy.

Season 3 builds on the success of the first 2 seasons by slightly tweaking the formula to maximize each episode. There is less slapstick and more emotion, making the characters deeper and ultimately more provocative. JD and Eliot’s on again-off again relationship plays a central role this season, with the two doctors having to design valid choices about their feelings for one another. Carla and Turk disappear towards the colossal step of marraige, and Dr. Cox has to approach to terms with the reponsibilities of fatherhood. The trademark offbeat humor remains and actually improves over Seasons 1 and 2. Zach Braff, Donald Faison, and Sarah Chalke shine as JD, Turk, and Elliot, but the valid highlight of the demonstrate continues to be John C. McGinley’s Dr. Perry Cox. Kelso, Jordan, and Carla play their sidekick roles with gusto, each adding their special note of humor, and of course, Neil Flynn as the fantastically offbeat Janitor.

Season 3 also has more amazing guest stars. Scott Foley (Felicity) reappears as Elliot’s cherish interest, Sean, Tom Cavanaugh (Ed) returns as JD’s brother Dan, Tara Reid( American Pie) has a multi-episode arc as a JD fancy interest, Brendan Frasier (Blast from the Past) returns from Season 1, and Freddy Rodriguez(6 Feet Under), Christopher Meloni(Law and Order), Barry Bostwick(Roam City), and Michael J. TELL NO ONE (Ne le dis à personne) succeeds on every level for this viewer. Based on Harlan Coben’s modern and adapted for the conceal and directed by Guillaume Canet, this is one of those intricately complex French films that is grand in the same mode as the 1955 film LES DIABOLIQUES. Nothing is as it appears at first and even when the mystery is explained in what appears to be a systematic, cohesive manner, the ‘real story’ remains a conundrum. It is a intelligent shrimp film well worth multiple viewings to fully relish all of the aspects of the radiant acting, cinematography, direction and musical scoring.

In a misty opening we glimpse Alexandre Beck (François Cluzet) and his ravishing wife Margot (Marie-Josée Croze) only to abruptly be drawn into the execute of Margot and the beating of Alexandre. The incidents are shrouded in mystery and remain so for eight years when suddenly the now pediatrician Alexandre receives an email from the ‘deceased’ Margot. Alexandre’s world is topsy turvy and he begins to fraction the unusual incident with his family - his sister Anne (Marina Hines) and her lover Hélène (a splendid Kristin Scott Thomas), his father, Margot’s family…and the police who start to study evidence that implicates Alexandre as the perpetrator. Alexandre’s lawyer (Nathalie Baye) pits evidence against the police investigators while Alexandre’s chief ally in his race from the accusers is Bruno (Gilles Lellouche), the father of a hemophiliac patient whom Alexandre has treated and befriended. The whisk is on and the clues become increasingly puzzling until at last the truth of the now eight year customary destroy and all of the implications of that event unfold.

If there are seemingly holes in the anecdote it is because we, the audience, are never quite distinct about the twists and turns of the region. The acting is great from this cast of some of France’s finest artists, and one of the best performances in the film comes from British actress Kristin Scott Thomas, reminding us that she is one of the most talented and heavenly actors on the conceal today! This is a tough small film to follow, but the quality of both the sage and the production is first rate. Highly Recommended. Grady Harp, October 08

This is a very though-provoking thriller, in the tradition of American films like The Fugitive, but with a original edge that makes it distinctively French and deliciously diabolical. It is certainly darker (and funnier) than The Fugitive, but it is no accident that there is an American feel, since it is based on a book by Harlan Coben.

Eight years after his wife’s brutal cancel, fresh clues emerge that lead police to once again suspect that Alexander Beck may have killed her. At the same time, he begins to contemplate she may be smooth alive, and is frantic to salvage her before he is arrested as a suspect for another related homicide. Director Guillaume Canet keeps you guessing as the site thickens, revealing bits and pieces of the past as unique circumstances aid Beck to glance that he didn’t know his wife as well as he had understanding.

The film looks mountainous, with editing and camera work that helps to enact a perfect balance of subtle tension and intensity. The performances are all very strong — and there is a surprisingly intense performance by a bit player, a obvious and remorseless colossal and skinny female assassin/torture expert, that level-headed haunts me. In fact, I would go as far as to say that her performance created one of the most homely villians I’ve seen on the mask in a long time — even more than the performance of Javier Bardem as Chigurh in No Country for Used Men — because it was unbiased as intense but more plausible. Definitely recommended for lovers of French Cinema, but also for those who consider that French films tend to be too cerebral and cannot explain the thrills. This one hits you in both the brain and the gut.

While the translation may have had its allotment of errors, the series in itself is as cessation to a perfect fragment of storytelling as I’ve seen to date. None of the characters descend into the “anime stereotypes” that are so approved in series released in the last 5 or 6 years. You’ll rep no squealy girls dressed in maid outfits trying to score the affection of the male lead character.

What they do have, is a solid progression of the anecdote from inaugurate to carry out, with characters who have believable personalities and do believable things. And the author’s light-hearted sense of humor translates well into the dialogue.

The translation errors are not really serious (I didn’t search for until another reviewer pointed them out) will only annoy you if you happen to know japanese and you happen to care. But if you know japanese, it’s better unbiased to turn off the subtitles anyway, isn’t it?

If you’re a sci-fi anime fan looking for a fine memoir to add to the collection, this is it. Crest of the Stars, this series’s predecessor, is coming out in june in a boxed set; you should think getting that as well, to procure out how Jinto and Lafiel met and how they survived their first adventure together.

The whole series is quite ample in it’s storytelling and character development. A slight insensible for many veiwers, but Its about as shimmering as anime gets these days. Some people say the translation is faulty, but I impartial notice it in Japanese anyway?

I have seen a lot of anime from a lot of different genre, and My-HiME stands out from the rest as one of the best anime I have seen. I will not give away any details to effect distinct not to spoil anything, but this anime has it all. It has teenage drama, action, mecha, lots of types of humor, really gloomy heartfelt moments, a sizable set and really superior character development. It also has a astronomical soundtrack that fits most scenes perfectly, from soothing piano, to quickly paced technoish battle songs, to some eerie tracks that unbiased add to obvious moments.

Now for those of you who don’t like mecha, this isn’t typical mecha, the ones in here are companions to the girls called HiME, not battle suits like most anime of that genre. While they do play a crucial role in the series, the series isn’t centered around fighting, it’s more about the emotion.

The series can be split into 3 sections. The first 7 episodes might seem a bit tiring, titillating, but this is salubrious as this anime has a lot of characters. These episodes each focus on a few of them so that the viewer gets to know a bit about them, accumulate a feel for them and what they are like so that you will remember them as they appear later on. The tale spends enough time with almost all the characters, and involves them with each other so that you actually want to know what happens to everyone, not honest the ones that the myth spends a bit more time with.

At episode 8, the anime dives deep into it’s record. It starts to come by really interested with it’s intense, somewhat dusky position plump of lots of unexpected twists that’ll hold you watching.

A exiguous while later things really change, but I won’t say any more about that.

Overall this anime was a perfect balance of everything for me. I will admit that it has a few elements that some may not like (the ending being one of them), but it’s impossible to please everyone. I personally enjoyed My-HiME from beginning to extinguish. I call this anime one of those hidden gems because it never really got noticed here in North America, partly cause of the plan it was released over here and the fact that they skipped the box site release after the single DVD’s came out, waited two years, then released this Anime Legends box spot.

I would also like to imprint that there is a an anime related to this. It’s called My-Otome. I would not call it a sequel as it does not involve any of the events from this one, but for the most portion all the same characters return with slightly different looks, some slightly different names, but in a more technologically advanced world with a whole modern adventure. Some call this an alternate world spinoff, but there are limited easter eggs in the series and it’s OVA sequel and prequel that suggest that it’s far off in the future and that the main characters are distant descendants of the ones in My-HiME. My-Otome has one immense contrast however in it’s presentation. While the returning characters hold their attitudes more or less in this series, most of the label current characters have more immature and childish attitudes than in My-HiME. It has a lot more comic and child-like humor which can gather a bit annoying so that when the account gets serious contrivance later on, you don’t really have the same in-depth feel for each character. The epic isn’t as sunless in My-Otome either, which is well-behaved for itself because the transition from it’s ecstatic laughable nature to a black space would be arrangement too awkward of a change for the viewer.

Nevertheless My-Otome, it’s sequel My-Otome Zwei, and prequel My-Otome 0 are all worth a explore. Level-headed I feel that even though the Otome series seems to be getting a lot more attention, My-HiME was smooth the better series in almost all aspects.

My-HiME is, in my view, almost as reliable as Evangelion. The series is about a girl named Mai Tokiha trying to begin a better life with her brother Takumi at the private school Fuka Academy. However, its difficult when you net out that you’re a HiME, one of the battle princesses that must protect the school from monsters called Orphans. So considerable for a better life!!

The series mixes up almost every aspect of an anime; drama, romance, angst, action, yuri, suspected yaoi, death, and a exiguous bit of fan service in between. (The extras after the credits)

This is one of the first anime that I found so emotional that I indeed shed a hobble!! The portrayal of the characters are very first-rate (both Japanese and English whisper actors) and they were very convincing.

Every character in the series is connected, and every character develops throughout the series.

It DID originate off a bit dumb, but it went into its area at the 5th or 6th episode. And it definitely became more serious and fleshy of twists after episode 8. The ending may not be up-to-par for some people, but the series as a whole is Improbable. One of the best in my concept.

I reccomend this anime to anyone. I showed this anime to a person who idea he’d never secure into it (my boyfriend) and now everytime he comes to my dorm room, and we have nothing to do. “Lets Recognize My-Hime!!”

A Hidden Gem of Anime.
